Ural is a mountain range that runs along the eastern border of Europe. The ridge is a natural barrier between Europe and Asia. These are very old mountains, but it is assumed that earlier they were the grandest stone massif on the planet. Their height erased with time, only the form remained. Tourists who are attracted by holidays in the Perm Territory have a unique opportunity to visit two continents simultaneously: Europe and Asia.
The nature of the Urals
The unique nature of these places, without a doubt, is the heritage of Russia and the whole world. If you look at the Perm Territory from a bird's eye view, the picture will be impressive: a dense network of blue rivers scattered across the green cover of spruce forests.
Natural resources are inexhaustible: more than 30 thousand rivers and lakes, and two thirds of the territory are covered with dense forests. Rest in the Perm Territory is a tour to the border of Europe and Asia, to where the Ural ridge passes very close by. And the appearance of these places is saturated with ancient legends, it seems that they are as old as a chain of mountains. Endless plains, mighty cliffs, mystical caves - this is what gives the area a unique flavor and originality.
Eco-tourism and leisure
Active recreation, rafting in Vishera, hunting and fishing are far from all the pleasures that tourism in the Urals can provide. The local forest can be safely called the jungle, because it looks like an impenetrable wall of mixed species of plants. However, unlike the tropical jungle, the local flora is called the taiga. Traveling along it is always a risk of going astray, losing the path. Despite the unpredictability of the venture, there are more and more people who want to take fantastic photos of the wild and breathe in the crystal clear air.
On the shores of Vishera special flora. For example, on the Vetlan rock there are vascular plants that are included in the regional Red Book. An elegant plant grows there - a
peony evading.
Ural rivers
The largest rivers in the region are the Kama and Chusovaya. Vishera is only the fifth in length of its reservoir. However, it is a journey through it that makes it possible to enjoy the most beautiful views of the local wildlife. The Vishera basin covers 241 thousand hectares. Sverdlovsk Region - the place where the Vishera River originates. The Perm Territory borders on it and accepts the river ribbon as a continuation of the relay. The bulk of the water flows along the foothills, which gives Vishera the character of a fast mountain beauty with a large number of rapids and rifts. However, closer to the middle course, the body of water becomes deeper, and the stream slows down. The average altitude is 300 meters. Further, the mountain river flows from the left side into the Kama River, forming the Kama Reservoir.
Three quarters of the coastal lands are covered in dark taiga. The color is created by coniferous trees that prevail in the forests. These are natural spruce trees that have not undergone cutting or human exposure.
Rifting in the Urals
In order to rafting along this mountain river, special training is not required. Families with children often make tours because the Vishera rafting is not dangerous. Most travelers use regular catamarans, but some go on a kayak or inflatable boat tour. The middle course of the river offers the most picturesque views. There are grandiose stone blocks, among which are the Written stone, Vetlan and Polyud.
Legendary stones
The hand-painted stone is located 50 km east of Krasnovishersk, on the right bank of Vishera. Nearby is the village of the same name. The right bank is a steep cliff 80 m high. The stone massif is divided into separate blocks by logs. In one of these cliffs there is a cave, decorated with inscribed drawings inside. In the depths of the cave, sacrificial sites of the Neolithic, Copper and Iron Ages, as well as the Middle Ages, were found. This stone is regularly visited by tourists who make rafting on Vishera. Convenient camping sites are on the shore, and uphill paths are laid along the slopes, where a beautiful view of the valley opens. Vetlan is not just a stone, but a huge rock 1750 km long and 100 meters high. There is a legend associated with this place explaining the local names.
Vetlan and Polyud, according to legend, are two heroes who were friendly and equally powerful. They fell in love with the beautiful girl Vishera.
Two young men began to compete for the right to marry her and began to throw huge boulders at each other. This went on for six days and six nights, and on the seventh day they turned into two rocky shores, and the beautiful Vishera parted them.
Top view is better
In order to climb, in 2003 an observation ladder was installed. If you look at the expanse of water from above, then the most magnificent view of the local nature will open. This landscape became the main hallmark of the region in the film "The Ridge of Russia" by Alexei Ivanov and Evgeny Parfenov . In addition, another page of the country's history is associated with this place. There are silent witnesses of repressive times: man-made islands - crib, which served in the 20-30s of the last century as an artificial division of the reservoir. Prisoners of Visherlag built them, among which was the world famous writer Varlam Shalamov. Today, only the tops of the robes are visible, the rest has to be imagined.
Major Rifting Routes
Most routes for rafting are designed for six days and start from the village of Mutiha in the Krasnovishersky district.
For everyone, trips from Perm, the capital of the region, are organized. Tourists take the bus to the base in Mutih, where an experienced guide instructs and helps expedition members collect equipment and prepare catamarans.
On the same evening, the group starts rafting along Vishera to the Written Stone, where the first night will be. The next morning, tourists visit the famous grotto. On the third day, rafting along the Vishera River will lead the voyagers to the Bolshoi Shchugor River. The rifting here is very calm, Vishera is deep, the current is strong enough. There is no need to row a lot - you can relax to see everything that opens to an admiring look around.
A day later, travelers leave for Vyshegorsk and spend the night in the village of Govorlivoe. Here the group remains the whole next day in order to enjoy the delights of rural life and see the history of the region with their own eyes. Guests will find a bathhouse, a meal and jumping over a bonfire.
On the last day, tourists visit the Vetlan rock and go to the base in the village of Bahari, Krasnovishersky district.
Wise people
It is also worth noting separately that in the Vishera basin there is one of the largest nature reserves in Europe. In addition to the amazing landscapes of nature, which is located at the intersection of not only East and West, but also North and South, here you can get acquainted with the culture of life of the once powerful Mansi people. Now this is the last place in Russia, where its indigenous people are in their natural conditions. The Mansi ethnic group has a masculine picture of the world, and this is not surprising, because the main occupations of the Perm Perm people are reindeer husbandry and hunting.
The rivers and forests of the reserve are still rich in animals, and the air is similar to a crystal in its purity. This is due primarily to the inaccessibility of the territory. It cannot be reached by bus or car. But you can get there by helicopter or on foot. Rafting along Vishera is also one of the few ways to get to the reserve.
Mansi learned to coexist with and take care of her land, but she gives them everything they need for life.
Alloy as an alternative vacation
Active leisure unites families and helps to make new friends. Often people begin to rifle like ordinary tourists, but soon they will explore the protected places on their own, and then an entirely different sensation gives the rafting in Vishera. Individual groups choose the route based on their interests, often combining river skiing with fishing and hunting.
