Juan Martin del Potro was born in September 1988 in the Argentine city of Tandil. His father used to be semi-professional in rugby. The debut of Juan Martin del Potro in tournaments sponsored by the ATP was simply stunning. On the hard coverings of Adelaide, the newcomer immediately reached the semifinals. He also took part in the Australian Open, where he was able to break into the second round.

Over the next three years, del Potro won five prestigious ATP tournaments, and in 2013 he repeated his record, becoming the fifth racket of the world.
After a year-long pause, the Argentinean again took part in the Sydney Olympic Games, in which he won the silver medal, losing in the final to the British Andy Murray. Two months later, Juan won the tournament in Stockholm. Del Potro's latest achievement was reaching the US Open semi-final in 2017, where he lost to tournament winner and first racket of the world, Rafael Nadal.
