Since the Neolithic era, mankind has learned to grow and maintain geese at home. In addition, people currently eat not only goose meat, but also the eggs of these birds. However, among experts there are a huge number of opinions on this subject. Someone argues that goose eggs should never be eaten, others do not agree with this. We will try to better understand this topic later in the article.
So, for starters, it should be noted that geese are much less common than, for example, chickens. Secondly, the eggs of this bird have a rather specific taste and smell, which not everyone will like. Not everyone can cook goose eggs in such a way that the dish will appeal to relatives and friends, for example. For this reason, this product is commonly used in confectionery with great care. In this case, the nutrition of the bird is very important. The taste of their eggs depends on the quality of food of geese. And one more thing regarding whether it is possible to eat goose eggs. Why does such a question arise at all? The thing is that geese are birds that are not very clean. In addition to all this, since goose eggs are much larger than chicken eggs, for example, their pores are much larger than in the first case. Through a fairly strong shell, more precisely, it is through these small holes in it that many bacteria dangerous to the human body get into the egg. This is especially true for salmonella. If we talk about a product such as a hatching goose egg, the degree of infection of a batch of eggs can be reduced by eighty percent. Such goose eggs deserve more trust from the potential consumer.
Of course, eggs of a healthy bird of this kind are very useful for humans. This product contains a high content of all necessary substances for the development of the body. However, it is worth considering not only the conditions of the bird, but also its age, breed and much more. In general, goose eggs are much heavier than quail and chicken. Such a valuable product is rich in fats. But as for the amount of water in goose eggs, then it is much less in them than, for example, in chicken.
In order to cook goose eggs, you need a small container and water. Remember, since this product is quite large (the weight of a goose egg can reach two hundred and fifty grams), you need to cook it longer. Typically, the eggs are boiled in boiling water for no more than twenty minutes. There are no other differences in the preparation of this particular type of poultry egg. It is worth noting that you do not need to experiment if you have absolutely no idea how finished goose eggs look at all. In no case should you eat raw geese eggs. According to statistics, more than seventy percent of people with salmonellosis recently consumed raw eggs, including goose eggs .
Goose eggs should not be given to small children. Probably, every mom knows that even chicken eggs are considered strong allergens for infants and toddlers up to one and a half years. Goose is better not to enter the childβs diet before school age.
In conclusion, I would like to recall once again the main points about the eggs of geese, which were described above in the article:
- they are much more dangerous for human health, since when using this product, the risk of salmonella infection increases several times;
- you need to cook goose eggs with caution, cook them longer, and do not eat raw;
- It is not recommended to give children of preschool age;
- they need to be collected as early as possible, since three hours after hatching, all bacteria and harmful microorganisms penetrate the shell, becoming simply simply inaccessible to various deodorizing agents;
- purchase this incubation type product. It undergoes special processing, which excludes the existence of the previous paragraph.
