Most people still consider coffee their morning drink. Tea is mentioned as an alternative in less than 10% of cases. Perhaps that is why coffee recipes are so diverse. The drink is prepared in many different ways and can include up to a dozen sometimes quite unexpected ingredients. Each person has his own secret: someone believes that the powder should be poured with boiling water, and someone - that lower it into the water; There are disputes at which point to put sugar correctly and which spices are better combined with the aroma and peculiar taste of coffee. And with the advent of coffee brewing machines, the drink became even more accessible for morning use: less time is spent on preparing it - you won’t be late for work.
Those who have managed to appreciate the benefits of a coffee machine usually prefer a cooking method called espresso. You can’t make one without a special apparatus, although there are people who believe that ground coffee , poured with boiling water and settled coffee, is in no way inferior to espresso made in a coffee machine. However, you won’t get the obligatory thick foam in this way, and without it it is a completely different drink.
The second most popular subspecies is Americano. It differs from espresso in a lesser strength. And no wonder - this type of drink is obtained by vulgar dilution of espresso with an additional portion of water. Without a modern coffee machine, you can’t make such coffee again.
And the third option is longo coffee. We can say that it is somewhere in the middle between Americano and espresso: there is less water in it than in the first, but more than in the second, and the same ratio is observed for the fortress.
Note that the same Italians gave the world longo coffee. The name can be translated as "long", "long". The fact is that with the same initial amount of magic powder, the extraction process lasts twice as long (a minute, not 20-30 seconds). More water is taken on longo coffee than on espresso - up to 60 ml. Due to the fact that a much larger volume of liquid passes through the ground grains, some components are extracted from them that do not have time to pass into it, if you use espresso technology. As a result, Lungo coffee has more bitterness and caffeine than espresso (and even more so in Americano). Apart from the longer cooking time, the recipes for espresso and lungo are no different from each other.
Not everyone knows, but you can drink such a drink (and you need it, especially in the heat!) Cold and with pleasant additives. If there is a coffee machine and you have already prepared a previously unfamiliar type of your favorite drink, make a froth of milk separately, pour your lungo into a beautiful tall glass, pour in ice (better crushed, but you can also cut in cubes), sprinkle the froth and sprinkle with grated chocolate. Refreshes, invigorates. And, most importantly, delicious!
