Religion of the Jews - the basic concepts.

The term "Judaism" is first mentioned on the pages of the Bible. This word was called the tribe of Judah, which was the largest among the other 12 tribes of Israel. Judaism is now the religion of the Jews. A unique set of rules and ideas that shape the life values and fate of the Jewish people. Judaism is the basis for building a Jewish society. The story of how the Jewish religion was formed is told in the Old Testament of the Bible.

More than 2 thousand years BC, modern Jews were the most ordinary polytheists. They, along with other people, sacredly believed in different gods, communicated with spirits. Their beliefs were based on the existence of a soul, which is enclosed in the blood of every person. Each community of that time was distinguished by the presence of its own god. The main place in the beliefs of past millennia belonged to the god Yahweh.

However, this stage of development, with which the religion of the Jews began, ended with the appearance in the history of Moses. Mention of him can be found in the Bible. It was he who showed the way and led the Jews out of the way of the Egyptians, giving them the Covenant of God. Some research by archaeologists will suggest a connection between religion and Pharaoh Akhenaten. Perhaps Moses took his belief from him, and then preached it among the Jews. His role has left its mark on many events, in particular, on such an aspect as the religion of the Jews - Judaism. For example, England gave religion a completely different name for "mosaicism."

The central idea advocated by Judaism, the religion of the Jewish people, is the election of Jews by God himself. He is alone and prefers only Jews as true believers. He does his will only through representatives of this people. Circumcision, which is performed by all male babies who have reached the age of 8 days, is considered to be a symbol of special reverence for the Lord.

The basic rules and norms that the religion of the Jews preaches have a very different direction. Among them, one can find religious aspects, such as disobedience to other gods, a ban on mentioning the name of the Lord for no reason, a ban on work on Saturday. Along with religious, you can meet moral stereotypes. Respect for parents, a ban on murder and theft, lies and a desire to get property of relatives.

Holidays are considered an important part of religion. All Jewish holidays are marked strictly according to the lunar calendar. The most important event is Easter. Previously, it was considered a symbol of work in the field of agriculture. A little later, they began to unite it with a great event, the day when the Jewish people got rid of the oppression of the Egyptians. Shebuot, also known as Pentecost, is very important. It is celebrated after 50 days after 2 days of Easter. He is identified with the day when Moses received a great gift from the Lord - the Law to all the Jewish people on Mount Sinai. An important event was Purim, symbolizing the salvation of the people during the great Babylonian oppression. In fact, there are a lot of holidays, but every truly Jewish Jew celebrates each of them, clearly adhering to all traditions, regardless of where in the world he is. True Jews honor and respect the laws prescribed by God, and live according to the rules.

The book worshiped by the Jewish religion is called Tanah. It consists of several separate parts. The Torah or Pentateuch, part of a doctrine whose authorship is attributed to Moses. Neviim - stands for "prophets." It consists of 21 parts, which has not only a religious, but also a chronological and political bias. Katuwim is a religious scripture in 13 different directions. The Tanakh is the oldest part, the history of which goes back to the 10th century BC. The translation of the part into Jewish was carried out within 70 days and now has the name of the Septuagint.
