There is no such person who at least once in his life did not make a paper airplane. Children master this fascinating activity by the age of 4-5, and some adults are amazed at the ability to fold gliders that soar long in the air and do not fall. Such skill can be achieved by studying the ancient Japanese science of origami, or rather aerogami - that part of it that is responsible for modeling flying objects.
How to make flying models of paper planes and what are they? There are so many options that remaking them all is simply unrealistic. Let's look at the simplest ones.
Glider
This is the simplest flying model of an airplane. With his own hands, even a child can fold such a thing. Another name for this airplane is โArrowโ. The step-by-step instruction for its manufacture is only 6 points:
- Take a rectangular sheet and fold it in half lengthwise, and then deploy it again.
- We bend the upper corners inward parallel to the axis, forming a triangle.
- We fold the entire structure in width so that the top of the triangle does not reach the bottom of the sheet by 2-3 cm.
- The upper corners of the resulting rectangle are again bent parallel to the centerline. We wrap a small corner sticking out from below, holding up the fuselage.
- Turn the whole structure over and bend along the axis.
- Bend the edge of each side and form the wings.
Little nicky
This flying model of an airplane is not as simple as the previous one. When performing all the actions you need to be very careful and attentive. For work, you need a square piece of paper.
- Fold the workpiece in half and straighten again.
- Fold the left and right rectangles twice along, the edge should touch the center line.
- Expand the square, you should get 4 identical rectangles.
- Take the bottom corner and pull it to the first vertical, mark the fold line. Repeat on the other side.
- Turn the leaf over and fold the triangles to the center.
- Take the bottom corner of the structure and fold it back and up. He should reach the top edge of the sheet.
- Pull the sides to the center line (center).
- Turn the craft over and press down the top of the structure while pulling the layers out.
- Turn the resulting triangles back.
- Fold the model in half along the axis and form the wings.
- Lower the ends of the planes and carefully straighten the craft.
It turned out an excellent flying model of the aircraft. Little Nicky maneuvers well and is capable of developing quite decent speed.
Zilk
If the flying model described above seemed too complicated for you, this scheme will appeal to you. Zilk boasts improved speed characteristics. The effect is achieved by combining a dense fuselage with a light tail. Making it yourself is very simple:
- Take a rectangular piece of paper, fold it in half lengthwise and unfold it again.
- Now do the same operation from the bottom up, straighten again and bend the upper half to the middle.
- Grasp the upper corners and wrap them down parallel to the longitudinal centerline, resulting in a trapezoid.
- Bend the upper part of the structure in half, the short base of the trapezoid should touch the transverse axis.
- Flip the craft over and fold in half along the longitudinal centerline.
- Lay the top right corner down and straighten again.
- Now it is necessary to open it and bend it down, and at the same time fold the upper part in half and back.
- Form a wing - fold the side of the upper sheet obliquely to the border of the โnoseโ.
- Turn the model over and bend the second wing.
The fastest flying airplane model is ready, you can launch it.
Tips for beginner aircraft designers
The flight characteristics of a paper airplane directly depend on how clearly and correctly it is folded. Paper is a fairly light and thin material. However, the planes are quite durable and can maintain their shape for a long time. If you want to make an aircraft that can stay in the air for a long time, follow some rules:
- Do not rush while working - the more accurately you follow the instructions, the better the result.
- Most attention should be paid to the tail. If you fold it wrong, the plane will immediately crash.
- Models with a large wing area fly best.
- By choosing a design with curved wings, you can improve the aerodynamic performance of the aircraft and increase flight range.
