The classic recipe for frappe is simple to prepare, from special equipment you only need a mixer. With its help, they also make various versions of the drink - with berries or sweet syrups, ice cream and cream. The main thing is to store more ice. By the way, the frappe recipe was invented quite recently, but it was in Greece, in Thessaloniki, in 1957.

According to legend, at an international fair, a Nestle employee wanted to treat himself to a cup of aromatic coffee, but there was no hot water nearby. I had to use what he could get, namely to dissolve coffee in very cold, almost ice water with small crystals of ice. Thus, by stirring the drink for a long time, he was able to obtain a stable coffee foam, which is one of the most important components of the cocktail. For it you will need coffee (instant, in granules), sugar and milk. First, mix sugar, a couple of teaspoons of coffee and add water. It is very important to keep the proportion - for 1 teaspoon of instant drink you need only 5 teaspoons of water. If you use a machine, you need to brew a highly concentrated espresso. This mixture must be beaten with a mixer for a sufficiently long time to obtain a smooth, thick foam. Many fans of the drink say that it is it that is the main component of properly prepared frappe. When everything is ready, put a very finely chopped ice in a tall glass, then add milk to taste. Fill the foam with the topmost layer, it will seep inside, giving the drink an invigorating and refreshing coffee taste. Before serving, place a cocktail tube in a glass.

For example, in Italy it is often prepared without adding milk, just taking strong coffee and crushed ice as the main ingredients, as well as adding dark or white chocolate, caramel. To prepare it this way, take the frappe recipe given above as the basis. By the way, you can take not only instant coffee, but also freshly brewed espresso in the machine. It does not need to be cooled, many barista recommend using a fresh, "live" drink, prepared 1-2 minutes ago. As already mentioned, in the Italian version frappe does not use milk, instead, take a couple of tablespoons of caramel or chocolate syrup or melted chocolate.
