Katerina took her first steps in the tennis world of Kozlov already at the age of five, when her father, Igor Kozlov, brought her to the court. Dad, who works as a tennis coach, took up the sports development of his daughter, bringing her to a serious world competition as an excellent fighter.
The beginning of Kozlova’s career
In her youth, the athlete became the owner of a number of awards in various age categories, feeling in the course of formation both the joy of high-profile victories and the bitterness of offensive defeats. In world tennis, Katerina made her debut in 2009. Replacing a mentor several years earlier with Vladimir Bogdanov, who is still a tennis player’s coach, Katerina began to rise rapidly in the WTA ranking.
First successes and achievements
Katerina won the first large trophy of Kozlov in 2012 on one of her two favorite coatings, ground. The Ukrainian confidently overcame both rounds of qualification, then in a bitter struggle reached the finals, where she defeated the Argentine Molinero in three sets. It was not necessary to wait long for the development to develop - Kozlova Katerina, whose tennis caused a lot of admiration, during 2012 was able to win two more cups as part of ITF tournaments - in Kazan and Kazakhstan's Shymkent. This success allowed the 18-year-old Ukrainian to fly into the TOP-200 world tennis in singles.

The following year turned out to be a little less successful for Kozlova - in two finals the Ukrainian fought for the victory until the last, but the three-set matches in both cases ended not in her favor. In 2014, Katerina added another cup to her personal piggy bank, the German Forsmeld, which is currently the last in her career. Katerina tried herself in doubles and achieved good results there, celebrating her victory in various ITF tournaments 13 times, but after 2014, the tennis player concentrated on singles and practically did not take part in doubles.
Doping scandal and return to court
The most unpleasant in the career of a Ukrainian was 2015. Despite the joy of debuting for the national team at the Federation Cup, in May the tennis federation decided to disqualify the tennis player for six months for using prohibited substances. Kozlova Katerina, whose term of suspension expired in August of the same year, from the first meeting after returning began to prove that this incident was an accident, and in the early summer of 2016 she entered the top 100 tennis players on the planet. Among them, she was able to hold out for more than 5 months, having risen during this time to the 89th line of the rating, however, a slight decline at the end of the year left her overboard in the first hundred at the beginning of 2017.
