Many craftsmen today make wood-burning stoves and boilers using thick-walled pipes. But sometimes such products become too expensive a pleasure, while several old drives from the car may be at hand. In this case, you can make a furnace, which will be completely free. You only have to work on the design itself, using your own skill and ingenuity. Some masters even create such "works of art" that deserve attention.
Such designs are attractive not only in performance, but also in the thickness of the metal. The case will burn out rather soon, especially if you use the wheel from a truck. The latter are used for the manufacture of bath furnaces, as they differ in overall dimensions and impressive metal thickness. For a bath stove, which quite often works under heavy loads, this factor cannot be called unimportant. If you use the wheels of a commercial or passenger car, you will be able to make a wood-fired heater for the garage or a small stove for barbecue.
Tool preparation
If you decide to make a hearth for a cauldron or a conventional oven using car wheels, then you need to take care of the availability of tools, among them are:

It is noteworthy that almost any of the performed models based on disks will be portable, which is very convenient, because you can use this design in a bathhouse or on the street. The hearth for the cauldron, like the sauna stove, cannot be made of aluminum disks, as well as those made on the basis of aluminum alloys.
Making a furnace in the form of a heat generator
If you decide to make a furnace from disks, then you can take the Buleryan design as the basis. The original will cost quite decent money, but a handmade product will be cheaper. If you find three wheels from a GAZelle or an UAZ, then you can assume that half of the work has already been completed. Sheet metal and pipes will be needed, the diameters of the latter should be equal to the limit of 100 to 150 mm. Prepare a short nozzle with a diameter of 76 mm.
When an oven is made from disks using this technology, the most difficult part is to cut out the inside. At the same time, it is not very convenient to work with an angle grinder , because the metal is quite thick. It is best to use a gas cutter, but if it is not there, the first of the mentioned tools will do. With the help of a welding machine, the discs must be hermetically joined in such a way as to form a casing. The back part must be closed with a metal sheet, to which the flue pipe is welded. If desired, a damper can be installed on this pipe, it will allow you to adjust the draft. However, the presence of a damper is not necessary if the furnace will have an adjustable air supply. To do this, in the front door, it is necessary to integrate a nozzle with a damper with a spring-loaded axis. A plate is installed inside the firebox, which will divide the space into two parts. This technique will become more understandable if you familiarize yourself with the construction of Buleryan. A secondary chamber will be located above, where the chimney pipe is welded. When a furnace is made of disks based on Buleryan, the design can have any diameter, spatial orientation and length. Everything will depend on what the size of the disks and their number are.
Making a large bath stove
For such work, conventional passenger car drives will not be enough, since they have a small diameter. It is best to stock up on the old rims from the ZIL-130 truck. The sauna stove will have a small brick firebox, it should be equipped with doors that should go into the dressing room. What you need to remember when making a sauna stove
When a sauna stove is made of disks with its own hands, the furnace part is usually made of red heat-resistant brick, which is laid on clay mortar. If the case dimensions are 625x625 mm, then you will have to purchase about 60 bricks. When installing the second rim, it should be placed with the hub down, the only way it will be possible to place a sufficient number of stones in it. The lower end of the pipe segment is welded to the central hole of the hub, its length should be 50 cm.
On top of the rim, the lifting plates for the water must be fixed. In disk number 4, a hole should be drilled for a pipe with a valve for filling the tank with hot water. The wheel where the water will be filled must be freed from the hub. Bottom of the steel sheet is welded from below to the rim, the thickness of which varies from 4 to 5 mm. In the central part, a hole is made to which the lower end of the second pipe is welded, while the hole should go inside the pipe and be sealed by the walls.

When a stove is made of disks for a bath, you can do without a brick firebox. In this case, it is equipped inside the first rim. However, the bathhouse will have to be heated from the steam room, in addition, the tight-fitting doors in the case will be much more difficult.
Features of the location of the rims
Firewood burning in the firebox will transfer its heat through the walls of the first rim, in which the bottom is cut. It is welded to the second disk, where the bottom is in place, thanks to this it becomes possible to fill it with stones. A pipe passes inside, combustion products will leave through it. The pipe should fall inside the third rim, where instead of the bottom there is a gas cutter. It is made of sheet metal. The last stage of gas cooling takes place inside the last rim, which looks like a tank with a tap and a lid. As a result, the furnace works no worse than factory models, and in terms of durability it turns out to be even better than any of them.
Oven for cauldron and barbecue
A stove for a cauldron can also be used as a barbecue. This device can be made of only two disks from the wheels of a passenger car. If you need a larger design, then there are no restrictions, you can use wheels from the GAZ-53 and UAZ. In one of them, the bottom is cut, and after the rim are welded together. The unit must be installed securely on any surface, for this the legs are fixed to the lower section using a welding machine. The holes for the hub must be plugged, while the side holes are left, air will enter through the furnace. In order to transfer the case it was convenient, handles should be welded to it from the outside, and in the side part to make an opening for installing the door. The latter should be made of a piece that sits on a loop. We can assume that the oven from the disks is ready for this. As practice shows, it can fit a cauldron, and, if necessary, five skewers with meat.

After you have completed the oven under the cauldron, throwing out the bottom of the upper disc is not worth it; it can become a stand for pots and pans for the kettle. This element will fit perfectly into the exterior of your site.

In addition, it can be noted that on the other side of the door there is a nozzle for the chimney, with a diameter ranging from 50 to 70 mm. The tile can be slightly redone, because when working through the lower holes ashes will wake up, which is not always good. A homemade stove made of disks at the top should have an iron bottom. The thickness of the steel plate should be 8 mm. This tank will be used to heat water. The volume of this boiler is about 95 liters, but this volume will heat up quickly enough, because a chimney passes through it, which will also heat up. In order for the boiler with water to be conveniently used, a crane must be included in its design. The chimney is fixed from above, the lid is fixed to it. At the final stage of the construction and installation of structures, a pipe should be led out through the ceiling and roof. It is necessary to isolate the structure from wooden materials and other flammable objects.
The issue of tightness
When a furnace is made from KamAZ disks or automobiles of any other brands, it is important to weld the joints of the structure as reliably as possible. This is due to the fact that during the operation of the device smoke will penetrate through the cracks and fall inside the bath. This can not be called pleasant and safe. Great attention needs to be paid to joints. After a certain period of use of the furnace, cracks may form on it, however, they can be easily eliminated by treating with clay and also sprinkling dry sand on top. Before you start operating the furnace from car wheels, you need to treat it with paint that is resistant to high temperature fluctuations. There should not be a wooden coating at the bottom, it is important to install the structure on a refractory surface. A fireproof shield should be installed in front of the room with the firebox, which has the form of a layer of iron with dimensions of 20x30 cm. The width should be slightly larger than the door itself. An additional insulation should be installed along the perimeter from below. And the gap between the insulation and the furnace is usually covered with dry sand, which is stacked with stones on top.
