In the southern part of the Moscow region, a hundred kilometers from Moscow, is the city of Serpukhov. Port history
The port of Serpukhov originates more than 100 years ago. In the years of foundation, even before the revolution, the port consisted of only 7 vessels - 4 passenger and 4 towing.
With the development of technology, transportation volumes and shipping in general, the number of vehicles increased. In addition to the marina, the organization included a technical site and repair workshops.
In the 60s, the management focused on passenger traffic, the fleet was significantly updated. First of all, due to the complete replacement of all steam vessels with actual diesel ships. In those days, getting to the nearest city by river was much cheaper and more convenient than land transport. Active flights were carried out to Kaluga, Kashira, Kolomna and Aleksin. It was the peak of passenger water transport.
In the 90s, the port was included in the Moscow River Shipping Company.
Port of Serpukhov today
Currently, the port includes 2 marinas - Serpukhov and Kaluga, ship repair berths, a yacht club and a technical purpose site.
