The production of household chemical goods is replete with various devices that help to cope with cleaning up the house and doing laundry without much effort. These products include liquid starch.
Application
The main field of application of such products is washing. The presence of starch compounds added to the rinse water makes the laundry harder, which is convenient for curtains, curtains, collars and cuffs of shirts. In addition, starched fabric is easier to iron, less wear and looks new. Dust sits on it less due to the fact that the fibers are not clumping, but glued together.
Liquid starch can either be used after washing to rinse in solution, or applied using a spray directly during heat treatment with an iron.
Popular cooking recipe
How to make liquid starch? There is nothing easier. For such a solution, any plant starch is needed, but for white fabrics it is advisable to use corn starch, it has a lighter base and does not leave spots.
Cooking liquid starch. Ingredients:
- water - 1 liter (suitable distilled or well purified by the filter, it will have less hardness, and the substances contained in starch will dissolve better);
- vegetable starch - 4 tablespoons;
- essential oil to taste and desire - 1 teaspoon.
It is worth thoroughly mixing all the components together to get liquid starch. Now it is enough to drain the liquid into a container with a spray to get the product no worse than in the store, and you can proceed to ironing.
Choux recipe
For thinner fabrics, liquid starch is best done in a choux way, you will need the same ingredients, but the cooking process will be different.
Water is divided into equal proportions, one part must be brought to a boil. In the second fraction of water, we dilute the starch and essential oil to a homogeneous state, combine the solution and boiling water between each other, we get a kind of jelly-like mass, which is added to the rinse water or the fabric is soaked immediately in the resulting mixture. Such a recipe will help curtain fabric, tulle, guipure, table napkins to acquire shine and hardness.
Supplementary Use of Starch
Do not think that starch is suitable only for washing, it can be used in the house in many situations.
If you put liquid starch on the windows, let it dry and simply sweep away the remaining powder with a clean rag, then you can forget about buying special window cleaning products.
Starch absorbs liquid well, which can help if a coffee stain appears on any surface.
The powder is able to remove unpleasant odors from shoes.
