In the store, such a "model" of a steam generator costs 500-700 rubles.
Why foaming shampoo?
This article is designed for owners of high pressure washers, complete with which there were no efficient foam generators. It is known that dense and plentiful foam with the use of special shampoo, applied to a dry body, significantly improves the quality of its washing.
An important parameter during washing is the exposure time of the foam to the dirt: if the shampoo is washed off too soon, it will not have time to react and the dirt will not be completely removed. If the foam is overexposed, then the dirt that has passed into the foam when the composition dries will fall onto the body again in the form of a whitish precipitate, which will inevitably lead to the formation of ugly stains. Therefore, the foam should be on the surface of the paintwork of the body for about 4-5 minutes.
Taking into account the foregoing, motorists are trying to make a foaming agent for washing with their own hands. Some of them look at large and expensive garden sprayers, spray guns, which, after alteration, can theoretically be used to spray shampoo, but the cost of such devices and the necessary air compressors, as well as other spare parts and components, often exceeds the cost of a branded high-pressure cleaner.
What and how to make a foaming agent for do-it- yourself washing?
Consider the option, the cheapest and simpler, which has proven itself well among many car owners. So, we make a foaming agent for washing with our own hands from a sprayer. We take an ordinary cheap manual garden sprayer, which looks approximately like in the figure above, and consists of a pump, a volume of 0.75 to 2 liters and a nozzle.
Its special nozzle allows you to spray the solution and adjust the spray pattern, but such a device will not create foam. Such sprayers from different manufacturers have differences in size and design, so in this article we will consider the idea of remaking. Specific dimensions are pointless.
Sprayer - almost ready foam generator
The drawings of a foaming agent for washing with your own hands are very simple and not difficult. A little refinement will allow the use of a store sprayer. To do this, unscrew the plastic nozzle tip and place 2-3 cubes inside. see foam rubber, glass wool, a foam tablet, or the material of an ordinary metal grater used to wash dishes. The volume of these foaming elements is selected empirically. In the upper part of the solution-feeding tube, a hole with a diameter of 0.3-0.5 mm must be made with a needle to mix the liquid with air.
We upgrade our own foam blowing agent to increase the foam
The specified device can be upgraded to increase the volume of foam. Instead of a standard nozzle from two syringes with a volume of 5 mm, a new nozzle can be made. It is necessary to cut off about half its length from one syringe, select the diameter of the washer or cut off a part of the cylindrical plastic tube from the standard nozzle to secure the new nozzle to the sprayer.
After this, it is necessary to connect the cut part and two syringes in any way by first placing the foaming material specified above inside. It should be closer to the sprayer outlet. The end of the syringe should remain empty to control the mixing of the foam.
If it is possible to purchase nozzles F110 (015, 02, 03, 04, 05) or flat nozzles of the HYPRO F80-06 type, then you need to cut off the end of our homemade nozzle and set the nozzle to a flat nozzle. By changing the tips you can achieve the desired spray pattern.
The air pressure that is needed for such a foam generator can be created with a foot pump by installing a nipple for the tubeless tire in the upper part of the tank. The pump should be pumped up without fanaticism, no more than 4 atmospheres, otherwise the spray tank will break. Some sprayer models have an overflow valve. It needs to be adjusted to a pressure of 3.5-4 atmospheres.
After washing, do not forget to treat the body with liquid wax, as its varnish coating has a porous structure. These pores must be closed, blocking the path of corrosion.
