Acrylic Pedicure Technology
The procedure for modeling acrylic:
- Standard preparation of nails (cutting off the free edge, cleaning out the eponychium, deburring, cuticles, shaving buff 240 grit, degreasing, primer treatment).
- Form setting.
- The ball of camouflage acrylic is laid out on the middle of the nail and is distributed over the entire width, going into shape and modeling the free edge.
- On all nails except the thumb, camouflage is brought to the cuticle. For the thumb, a ball of transparent acrylic is taken and fills the line from the middle of the nail to the cuticle.
- Opil.
- Polishing or coating with clear gel.

Gel modeling
You can extend the nails with gel and acrylic. But masters are increasingly choosing toenail gel. In the interior, itβs easier, it is designed for most designs, is not afraid of nail polish remover. Sometimes the tips of the nails do not allow you to substitute the form, and their length is not enough to stick the tips. In this case, the master will make a thin substrate of acrylic, restoring the nail plate. After its filing, gel designs can be applied - cat's eye, mirror or pearl rub and others.
Itβs convenient to draw a French pedicure with a gel. This can be done in both gel and acrylic techniques. A white strip is applied before the top coating, polymerizes for two to three minutes in a UV lamp and 1 minute in LED.
Extensions of toenails on molds
Gel application technique:
- The preparation of the nail and the setting of the forms is the same as in the acrylic technique.
- Application of the base gel and polymerization in a UV or LED lamp for 2 minutes or 30 seconds, respectively.
- Covering all fingers except the thumb is done with one drop. So that you do not have to file down the gel that has flowed onto the cuticle, the work is carried out quickly, but clearly. The first drop of camouflage gel is applied to the middle of the nail and distributed first at the cuticle, making the brush move smoothly towards it and roll back to the middle of the nail. They do not click on the brush, all work is carried out through the air, the gel reaches for the brush. The next two movements are similar - on one and the other hand, the brush goes from the middle to the corner of the nail and returns to its place. Now the brush approaches the lateral side of the nail, leaves through the middle to the other side, returns to the middle and stretches the gel to the form. If the gel on the brush is over, now it is applied again, it takes a little. A free edge of the desired length is formed. Cure for 2 minutes one nail to avoid leakage on the side rollers.
- Nail extension on the big toe: a coating is formed with three drops. The first is the free edge: the brush is placed in the middle of the nail, lowered onto the form and makes movements to the side rollers. The second drop builds the structure of the nail, this is the area of ββthe lateral ridges and the apex. The third drop is a transparent structural gel, apply it near the cuticle. Cure 2 minutes in a UV lamp.
- Opil.
- Top gel coating. Cure 3 minutes in a UV lamp and 30 seconds in an LED lamp.
Home operations
In the event that you need a hygienic pedicure, it is not necessary to visit the salon. But what if the corner of the nail broke off, the edges were accidentally unevenly cut, or a crack went along the nail? Everything can be fixed at home, only glue and silk are needed. In shops for beauty salons they sell special glue for gluing tips. It consists of cyanoacrylate, but is very different from the superglue from the hardware store in the degree of purification. It will not damage the nails, you can safely buy it. You can also buy chopped silk for nail repair.
The necessary pieces of silk are cut with scissors. Then, a drop of glue is applied to the prepared nail (peeled and non-fat), distributed over the surface and the silk is drowned. If you need to increase the length - they shift the silk from the nail, forming a free edge. You can glue it again for strength.
The glue quickly sets with all objects in contact. In order not to stick your fingers, you will need tweezers for the procedure. When the glue dries, they file through the shape of the free edge, while removing excess silk. Now you can paint the nail with varnish or gel polish.
Buildup correction
