Biography
The future Formula 1 pilot was born in Geneva on April 17, 1986. Roman himself considers himself a Swiss, but acts under a license issued in France. In childhood, I was not particularly fond of car racing and did not see myself driving a racing car. And Grozhan’s parents wanted to educate him as a scientist, and not an athlete, so they were allowed to sit behind the wheel of a kart for the first time only after he corrected his grades in studies.
Roman's racing career is full of ups and downs, but this does not prevent him from enjoying life and maintaining self-control in various situations. Huge fees could not spoil the character of the rider and turn him into a glamorous patron of entertainment institutions, so today he is working part-time at one of the Geneva banks.
Sports career
For the first time at the wheel of a racing card, Roman Grosjean sits at the age of 14. And already in 2001, he became the winner of one of the competitions taking place in France. In 2003, having shown his remarkable racing talent, Roman transplanted behind the wheel of a Renault 1600 formula-type car, on which he brilliantly wins all the stages of Formula Renault, which takes place in Switzerland. Then Grosjean begins to perform in France, where he shows good results, constantly taking prizes in races.
In 2008, scouts of the Renault main team noticed a young and talented racer, after which they invited him to the main team, in which, along with experienced pilots, another name appears - Roman Grosjean. "Formula 1" completely absorbs the rider. And already in 2009, Roman became the main pilot of the team and acts at all stages of the race, but he still could not get into points this year.
From 2012 to 2015, Roman Grosjean stands for the Lotus F1 team. The highest achievement for the rider becomes 7th place according to the results of all stages of the race. Aggressive driving of the novel contributes to frequent accidents and retirement.
