Let's start with steel devices. Before you begin, you will need to prepare a metal billet and find a lathe on which it will be further processed. If you have the opportunity to grind this device, this is very good. But since such equipment is not available to most citizens, we will consider the option of processing on a lathe.
Among the many tools we will need a plastic or steel box in the form of a washer, metal scissors and pliers. We also need a grater for vegetables. The latter is processed as follows. Two circles are cut from the grater. Their diameter should not be less than the width of the prepared box. On the edges of each of the cut out circles, small incisions should be made and using pliers to bend them so that the sides turn out. In this case, make sure that the sharp ends of the part go out. The last part, along with the knife, is involved in the production of boxes, i.e. parts of the grinder. In the manufacture of these boxes, you should decide in advance exactly where to drive the small nails. By the way, their hats should be cut off. This can be done with ordinary pliers. Place the nails in such a way that they do not interfere with each other during rotation.
The principle of manufacturing a wooden grinder does not differ significantly from a metal product. However, it should be noted that you do not need to cut a box of wood. Small nails are hammered onto wooden washers. And if everything is carefully calculated, you can get a real souvenir product.
Improvised grinder
Another very interesting way, but in its complexity it is the most difficult among all the others. Here we need a jar of soap bubbles or film, several cylindrical pieces of wood, a hammer, a drill, a file and nails. First of all, you need to cut the jar into two parts. As for the cylindrical pieces of wood, they can be cut off from the handle of a shovel or rake. It is enough to have two pieces with a diameter equal to the thickness of the jar. At the same time, that part of the tree that will be included in the part of the jar with the lid should be a little narrower than all the others. You should also make a couple of through holes here through which tobacco will wake up. Next, in both pieces of wood you need to hammer in small nails. Again, first you need to cut off the hats from them. From the largest nail it is necessary to make the central axis. This is necessary for more convenient rotation of the grinder. Everything - the product is ready to use. In order to fall asleep or take out tobacco from such a device, it is enough to open the top lid of the can. You can make such a simple grinder with your own hands in a few minutes, but you can use it until the blades become dull.
Making a grinder from a spice mill
This is perhaps the fastest and most primitive way to make a grinder for tobacco. All we need to prepare is a mill bottle for pepper or spices. There is no need to make a grinding mechanism in the mill itself, since it is already provided there. Do-it-yourself tape for the grinder is also not installed here. Immediately after the acquisition of such a device, you can pour tobacco into it and grind it to fine particles. In fact, the only thing that distinguishes such a โcraftโ from a true mill is the kind of material being processed. If in the first case pepper or spices is used, then in the second case tobacco is poured inside. The main disadvantage of this product is the lack of capacity for the material. That is, tobacco is crumbled out immediately when chopped. Therefore, in order not to spill it on the floor, you should pre-lay a sheet of paper on the table.
The sharpness of the tool blades
It should be noted that the sharpness of the blades that are used in all of the above crafts (it doesnโt matter if you made a ribbon grinder with your own hands or any other tool) can differ significantly in one direction or another. However, in any case, such blades will often blunt than factory analogues.
