When stitching, it is worth leaving a small area at the end not sewn up - to drain the water. After that, the skin is molded with a knife, treated with cream, wax or skin paint. Problems
However, the leather sheath has one main drawback - they are solid. Therefore, it will be difficult or simply impossible to clean them. And since the knife is hunting, it is constantly dirty. Wooden scabbard
Do-it-yourself wooden scabbard is not so difficult. They can consist of two halves and a leather strap or tie cord. To begin with, each of the halves is individually cut out. They should be made so that one half is inserted into the other, but both can "ride" relative to each other. The inner surface of the parts is machined under the knife. He must freely enter and exit the sheath. After which the blanks are polished and varnished. It’s best to pick a tree to match the color of the knife handle. The halves are connected and tied with a cord (wrapped in a narrow strip of leather). You can attach a special spring plate inside so that the knife does not fall out of the scabbard.
