We usually store underwear and socks in chest drawers so that they are available at any time. But how often the following happens: you have already figured out what outfit you’ll wear today, but you won’t find any suitable underwear. This happens if it is folded in a drawer randomly, things move around, and they are not easy to find right away. To avoid this, we propose to make an organizer for underwear with your own hands. He will be an excellent assistant in the careful storage of these delicate things, and will also allow you to organize the available kits.
Organizer for fabric underwear
There are several options for how to make such an organizer. The first option: to sew using only fabric. Choose a dense material for the bottom and side walls, any suitable for partitions. Nothing limits the coloring: let it be your preferred color (or several) that pleases the eye. For edging, stock up with an edge or tape. Measure the length, width and height of the box in which the organizer will be placed. For the bottom and walls, cut out rectangles from the fabric that will be a couple of centimeters smaller than the measured dimensions. Next, divide the space into compartments, it is best to do this empirically: for example, fold the bras and measure their width. After all, everyone has different sizes, and you can’t say exactly what format of your linen will fit in the cell. Then cut and sew to the bottom of the longitudinal partitions, outline where the transverse will pass. Determine their required size, cut out the rectangles from the fabric and sew in the marked areas. After that, it will remain to stitch the sidewalls and close all the prominent seams with an edge.
Using cardboard to create an organizer
You can make an organizer for underwear with your own hands in another way. It is not much different from the first. Inside the fabric partitions, cardboard or plastic rectangles can be sewn. So the organizer will look more symmetrical, it is better to keep in shape. The manufacturing process of this box is practically the same as described above: in the same way you will need fabric and fringing.
Unusual organizers for storing underwear
If you do not want to be limited to rectangular shapes, you can create something unusual. Let the cells have the shape of rhombuses or bee honeycombs - this option will appeal to both men and women, because it is also convenient to store socks in it.
What will be required to make an original organizer for underwear with your own hands? It is very convenient to use old plastic cards, they are symmetrical, of the same size and keep their shape perfectly. It’s not at all necessary to cover them with fabric: you can simply wrap them in white paper and connect the elements with glue. If you do not have a large number of cards, use cardboard clippings that match their size.
