How to make floor vases with your own hands

Once in one hospitable house, I drew attention to one thing, namely a vase, standing in a place of honor near the fireplace. The hostess, not without pride, said that she was made by her, and showed her other masterpieces. It turns out that made table or floor vases with their own hands will be a subject of special pride and can help save money when arranging a home. It's no secret that sometimes mezzanines, pantries and balcony cabinets are filled with things that are not used, but it is a pity to throw out. And only some originals have the idea to turn this stuff into a designer thing. So with taste you can get rid of unnecessary home junk.

Is it easy to make, for example, a floor vase? Yes, although some items require some time and perseverance. Unexpected floor vases with their own hands are obtained from those who act in accordance with the proverb "glue on inventions of cunning." It is better for beginners to start with less intricate objects - table vases, but the floor vase, truly, is already a design object. You need to think about what height and shape is suitable specifically for your interior, where it will stand, decide on the color scheme, and the purpose of your product. Making a flower vase with your own hands involves the use of materials that do not allow moisture to pass through, or you will have to consider the possibility of placing the vessel with water inside. This significantly narrows the range of starting materials. But the floor vase can be used simply as a decorative element or with the filling of artificial flowers, dried flowers, bamboo.

Unique do-it-yourself floor vases made of various materials. Of course, you can take a glass container of the right size or a ceramic pot, paint them with stained glass paints, decorate with glass beads or tinted cereals, use decoupage technique. But more often I want to give the old thing a new life.

Let's look at how to make a floor vase with your own hands.

The components of the vase are a bucket from the primer, paint, putty, a convenient size plastic bottle and a three-liter plastic bottle.

Previously, all these items need to be washed, remove paper labels, wipe with alcohol or turpentine.

After that, you can go to the main stage of work. Insert the bottle into the bucket, having previously cut off its upper part above the middle. Then, insert the bottle with the previously cut neck into the bottle. Fix them at the base with Moment glue. The space between the bucket, the bottle and the bottle is filled with papier-mΓ’chΓ© mass to give strength to the structure. For this, old newspapers need to be crushed, filled with hot water and allowed to stand. After that, squeeze newspaper clippings and mix with PVA until smooth. Further, as empty spaces are filled, we begin to literally sculpt the shape of a vase with our hands. Leave to dry.

After the vase has dried, it must be primed, allowed to dry again and sanded for smoothness with sandpaper - the vase is ready for decoration. We paint it in the main color two to three times using paints in an aerosol package (preferably not indoors). The final decor opens up space for experimentation - unusual floor vases with your own hands can be made seasonal. The summer version can be decorated with decoupage technique, find beautiful napkins with floral patterns, or paint yourself. Autumn version may suggest a leaf ornament. The final touch in the design of the vase is the application of two or three layers of varnish.

The process of creating vases is simple, but very exciting. Craftsmen say that he is addictive. Any unnecessary item can turn into a unique masterpiece, the manufacture of which is a unique way of art therapy, because not only labor is invested in it, but also the soul, desire, positive energy.
