One-to-one instruction ... Modern parents have probably come across this term more than once in Western magazines, television shows or films. In a personally designed program, many prominent scientists, athletes and politicians of the world once worked on? Interesting, alluring, and most likely promising, isn't it?
But what is happening in our country? Is it possible?
Section 1. Individual training in Russia .
In accordance with the indicators of the Department of State Policy of the Russian Federation, at present, only in our country, 85 thousand children are individually trained, including about 45 thousand disabled people.
The number of lessons depends on the class in which the training is conducted, and based on one week, and in total is:
- For grades 1-4 - about 8 hours;
- For grades 5-8 - 10 hours;
- For 9 - 11 hours;
- For 10-11th - no more than 12 hours.
The current legislation of the Russian Federation allows people who have reached school age to receive the necessary education both in educational institutions and at home. As a rule, problems related to the mental or physical health of the child can serve as a reason for registering this type of knowledge .
Although, in principle, parents can express a desire to independently educate their child, or else involve private teachers in the educational process. This is not against the law on education.
Section 2. Individual training . Main advantages.
- The pace of mastery of knowledge. From this point of view, the undisputed leader isthe so-called home schooling, as The curriculum is individually tailored to each student. Someone masters all the necessary material in a fairly short period of time, and someone will need extra time. Itβs almost impossible to arrange individual education at school, as the teacher must devote a sufficient and equal amount of time to each student.
- Taking into account the abilities of the child. Putting a mentor to the baby, parents can be sure that a highly qualified specialist will see the abilities of their ward in time. As a result, it will be possible to work with a little mathematician in more depth, say, physics, mathematics or chemistry, and the humanist will continue the educational process, focusing on literature and foreign languages.
- Favorable working environment. At home, you can, if desired, create special conditions for learning, namely, make school furniture on an individual project, prepare a set of all the necessary literature (reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries). If the baby wakes up very early and is more active in the morning, do it in the morning, and the evening hours will be more beneficial for the baby owl.
- The psychological aspect. An emotional child will no longer need to experience additional stresses associated with getting used to the new environment, the team, and the environment as a whole.
- Necessary measure. It often happens that home-based education is not just a whim of modern parents, but the only way to get an education. Often these kids are not allowed to attend school. And if parents can cope with reading, writing and mathematics at the initial stages on their own, then individual instruction in English or any other foreign language, in the case, of course, if one of the relatives is not a qualified teacher in this industry, requires certain services specialists.
Section 3. Individual training. The disadvantages of this training type.
- Socialization. According to psychologists, in the home form of education, the child often lacks communication with his peers. itsubsequently may affect its adaptation in society.
- Healthy competition. The so-called βhomeβ student, as a rule, receives a huge amount of information, and the learning process takes place in a comfortable home environment. But from the point of view of psychology, the baby very quickly gets used to the fact that he receives all the attention of the teacher, and as a result of this he is significantly behind in terms of psychological maturation.
- The objectivity of the assessment. Of course, in schooling, there is a very likely danger that your child will simply go unnoticed in a crowd of classmates, and his talents and abilities will not be fully revealed. But with home schooling, everything is just completely different. Sometimes excessive condescension is manifested to the baby or, conversely, excessive severity.
- The material side of the issue. In most cases, schooling in our country is still free. Costs, of course, can be, but all of them, as a rule, come down to paying for textbooks, food, and rare money for repairs or gifts for teachers. Home schooling requires the involvement of private educators, whose services can greatly impact the budget.
