Gleb Arkhangelsky is a Russian business coach, a chief expert in science called “time management”, the general director of the Organization of Time and the editor-in-chief of the improvement.ru internet portal. He is a candidate of economic sciences and heads the time management department of the financial and industrial academy in Moscow. The article is dedicated to this man and his time management technique.
Biography
Gleb Arkhangelsky was born in 1979 in Leningrad. He graduated from St. Petersburg University with a degree in applied mathematics. Later he studied at the courses of project management and Time Manager. Interested in the topic of rational use of time, he developed his own school of time management in Russia.
Time management has always interested both managers and businessmen, but Gleb managed to study the problem thoroughly, as a result of which he began to earn on his research.
About "frogs" and "elephants"
Time management workshops are very successful. Its technology will help anyone plan their time competently and realistically and get a high degree of effectiveness in their field. Gleb Arkhangelsky says that time is a unique resource, the only one that cannot be made up. Money is different. They can be earned. But as for time, it leaves forever.
Gleb Alekseevich focuses on the allocation of special time to perform some unpleasant tasks that everyone has and tend to be postponed day by day. He calls such petty affairs "frogs." Remaining unfinished, they can grow to incredible sizes and turn into the so-called "elephants", big problems that require considerable time. To cope with them, Gleb Arkhangelsky offers to "cut into steaks" each "elephant" and deal with it in parts in such a way. This means dividing a global task into a series of sub-tasks, the solution of which will lead to getting rid of the “elephant”.
Integrity and regularity
The technique of Gleb of Arkhangelsk teaches many ways to properly manage their time. He has been conducting such seminars for several years.
The approach is interesting in that it applies not only to work, but to the entire pastime, including family, relaxation and all components of a person’s life. Only by allotting time to all the components of life, it is possible to lead a full and dignified lifestyle. The author of the methodology says that no matter how paradoxical it sounds, but the higher a person rises up the social ladder, the more difficult it is for him to plan his regime so that all the values he aspired to are fully satisfied. This is due to the greater share of responsibility that must be borne by the leader or businessman, and the increasing number of cases. In addition, people who depend on him also require the allocation of time. Therefore, it is so important to learn how to use this resource so that someday in old age you do not regret that the years were spent at all on what was needed.

Organization of time other than work
What matters is not a quantitative indicator of labor, but its qualitative characteristic. It is known that a person, if he is exhausted, simply cannot work fruitfully and efficiently. Therefore, it is important to organize and plan a vacation so that there is a maximum possibility of switching. For example:
- when working as a programmer, leisure must be active;
- a sports coach, on the contrary, is more suitable for a “sitting rest”, some kind of computer game.
If we talk about laziness, then you should not take it critically and go over yourself. Better to rest and relax. Then there will be a desire to work again.
The best rest, of course, is a dream. Gleb Alekseevich Arkhangelsky claims that it is physiologically necessary for a person to sleep a little during the day. If you take this as a rule, then immediately there will be a noticeable increase in productivity in work.
To make it better to sleep, it is good to have a single ritual before this time, preferably at the same time. And in the future, do it only when a person is going to sleep.
Work time
In order to make your dreams come true, you need to study the “three pillars” or the three basic principles on which time management is based. This is goal setting, planning and motivation.
With the first principle, usually there are no problems, since, probably, everyone has some desires and goals that they would like to achieve. In order for them to acquire certain visible features, they are planned and fixed on some information carrier. However, in order to implement the plan, despite the possible obstacles and unpleasant actions that need to be performed, sufficient motivation is needed. Usually it is with this principle that problems arise. To create motivation, you need to engage in self-knowledge and understand in what mode and how a person is able to work best. Having studied this, it is necessary to create such conditions for yourself.
In planning, Gleb Arkhangelsky notes that it should be flexible, with the possibility of changing and laying the margin of time.
Plans are made for days, weeks, months, and years. All tasks in them are prioritized.
With properly organized time, you will notice that all tasks are solved at the right time. Gleb calls this indicator kairos. It is necessary to carefully monitor it and not waste your time when objectively the task cannot be solved.
Work
Several books have already been published, among them, such as Diary, Work 2: 0, Organization of Time, Time Drive, and others written by Gleb Arkhangelsky. The reviews of those who have tried his methodology on themselves are different. Some say that they begin to engage and in two weeks they break down and switch to their previous mode of being. Others, armed with some kind of rule, begin to find time for those things that were previously inaccessible to them.
For all the effectiveness of the method, you need to understand that it will become such only when it is dealt with day after day, without ceasing and at the same time without overloading yourself with information. Gleb Arkhangelsk, whose biography demonstrates success, believes that each individual method should be studied slowly, gradually introducing into practice. And only after mastering it, proceed to the study of the following principle. Then the result will exceed expectations.
