Throughout the season, the athlete participated in 16 competitions under the auspices of the “Women's Tennis Association”. The girl also lit up at the Atlanta Olympics from Switzerland.
Hingis expected success not only in doubles, but also in singles. During performances at the US Open tournament, the young tennis player lost only in the final match, losing the title to the first racket of the world, Steffi Graf.

The press also circulated messages regarding the couple’s intentions to get married.
In 2010, the tennis player told reporters that she married the French rider Thibaut Uten. Three years later, information was opened on the separation of the spouses. Soon the marriage came to an end.
