Gor Minasyan is an Armenian weightlifter. He is a repeated winner of international competitions, a participant in the thirty-first Olympic Games.

The future athlete was born in the Armenian city of Gyumri. This happened on October 25, 1994. He began to pay attention to sports from an early age. He visited the wrestling and boxing sections. Having discerned remarkable physical abilities in his young talent, the coaches persuaded his parents to give his son weightlifting. So, a new name appears in the sports history of Armenia - Gor Minasyan.

The bar becomes the main sports equipment of a young weightlifter. Here he takes the first serious professional steps and achieves fantastic results. In 2010, Gor Minasyan is a member of the youth national team of the country and takes part in the summer Olympic youth games, where he shows the second result in his weight.

At the Youth Games in Singapore, Gor Minasyan performs in weight over 85 kg. In terms of biathlon, he raises 350 kilograms and takes second place, losing to Iranian weightlifter Alirez Kazeminejad. In the first adult competitions, Gore performs unsuccessfully. At first, at the European Championships, he does not cope with excitement and takes only seventh place.

The results shown at the junior competition held in Lima are canceled due to a failed doping test. Gor Minasyan is suspended from participation in the games for 2 years. But already in 2015 in Houston at the World Championships, the Armenian weightlifter is rehabilitated and takes the third prize in the favorite weight category of more than 105 kilograms. And in 2016, Gore Minasyan won silver at the European Championships, which allows him to take a place in the country's Olympic team and get a ticket to the Olympic Rio de Janeiro.

At the 2016 Olympics, Gor Minasyan performs in his weight category - over 105 kilograms. In it, he reaches the finals, beating one Georgian weightlifter, Irakli Turmanidze, and losing to another - Lasha Talakhadze. At the games, Gore sets his own record - in the snatch he raises 210 kg, in the clean and jerk - 241. The total amount of biathlon is 451 kilograms.

Thus, of the four medals earned by the Armenian national team at the Olympic Games, one is brought by Gor Minasyan, for which he receives universal recognition and a state award. He receives the medal "For Services to the Fatherland" of the I degree from the hands of the President of Armenia.
