Weather in Turkey in September promotes comfortable rest

Often we become hostages to established myths. One of them is the belief that relaxing by the sea is possible only in the summer. Therefore, in Turkey - a country that has recently become a favorite vacation spot of Russians - in the summer there is nowhere to fall an apple. What the northerners accustomed to the cold do not undergo in summer in Turkey: scorching heat, sunburns, stuffy nights, crowding and stuffiness in public places and transport. What kind of excursions are there, especially to the mountains! There you can get a heat stroke. Therefore, having paid a lot of money for a ticket to the Anatolia coast, people sit all day on the beach and learn about the sights of Turkey only from tourist booklets.

Whether it's autumn, especially its first half! At a time when “sad time” reigns at our place, the weather in Turkey in September-October continues to please with warmth. And even more than warm. On the coast of the Mediterranean Sea there are still hot summer days - + 30 degrees. At the same time, the temperature of the water warmed up over the long southern summer remains, as in the bath, + 25-29 degrees. Autumn is felt only in fresh nights, which give real rest after a sultry day: + 18-24 C.

Weather in Turkey in September is not rich in precipitation. Rains begin in November and are frequent in winter, but in September there are practically none. The first half of autumn here is considered a dry period, and for the whole of September no more than 5 mm of precipitation falls on the Anatolia coast. In the mountains, sudden rains and showers are possible, therefore, when going on an excursion to Pamukkale, Konya or Kusadasi, you need to remember to grab an umbrella or take a raincoat.

Since the country is quite long from north to south, the weather in Turkey in September can vary greatly depending on the region. Storms and gusty winds can already begin on the Black Sea coast. The western coast of Turkey is always washed by the somewhat cool Aegean Sea. Resorts such as Marmaris, Izmir and Bodrum are renowned as summer holiday destinations, as wind from the sea softens the sweltering summer heat. But in September, especially in the first half of the month, the summer picture is still preserved: warm, clear, the sea is suitable for swimming (+ 22-24 C). Southern Turkey is especially comfortable for autumn holidays. The weather in September is very hot, in the afternoon reaching a mark above + 30 degrees. Nights are also not cold - + 20 degrees - so it’s quite possible to visit open-air night discos.

The weather in Turkey in September favors hiking and excursion trips. The sultry Taurus Mountains, covered with fragrant coniferous forests, become accessible to northerners. You can go hiking on the peaks. If you relax in Kemer in September-October, then a pleasant surprise awaits the tourist: after climbing the cable car to the top of the mountain, you can ski at a real ski resort, and after half an hour warm up on Kemer beach. The most visited tourist destinations in Turkey are the legendary Troy, the natural wonder of Pamukkale, the spiritual capital of the country of Konya, Cappadocia, the Worlds of Lycian and other no less interesting places; to visit in September is even better than in summer: there is no such exhausting heat and much fewer tourists. On your pictures it will be captured exactly the ancient ruins, and not crowds of people little known to you.

Despite the fact that the weather in Turkey in September continues to be summer, the main flow of tourists leaves the country. To attract vacationers, hotel owners begin to reduce prices. And if you can’t afford a vacation in Antalya or Alanya in the summer, then in September this vacation becomes more affordable. Moreover, discounts apply not only to hotel prices: fruits in the bazaars, clothes in shops, food in restaurants and cafes - prices in Turkey, starting in September, become "as for their own." Even public transport in Turkey, the so-called dolmushi minibuses, are becoming cheaper. In a word, September is the best month to sunbathe, swim and get acquainted with the rich heritage of Turkey.
