Shellac Coating - Manicured Nails

All modern women want flawless nails. For this, many of them regularly visit specialized salons or do manicures and pedicures at home. In any case, the final stage of caring procedures will be the application of decorative colored varnish to give nails more attractive. But, unfortunately, it is common for ordinary nail polish to chip, crack and damage quickly, especially if it has not dried out enough. However, today an amazing solution has been found - this is Shellac coating.

shellac coating

Shellac is a coating that combines the properties of a simple nail polish and gel for building them. Thus, Shellac coating is easily and simply applied directly from the bottle, which looks no different from the container for ordinary varnish, and dries under the influence of UV rays, like a gel. The novelty appeared with us relatively recently, about two or three years ago, but has already gained immense popularity. And there are a lot of reasons for this.

Firstly, Shellac coating is not only easy to apply, but also lasts a very long time - up to two weeks (depending on the condition of the nails). This is a huge plus not only for women who constantly live β€œat a pace”, but also for those who are going to go on a long vacation. Shellac is ideal for pedicures. In this case, it is generally able to hold out for about a month, which is very important in the season of sandals.

Secondly, Shellac quickly dries under a UV lamp. The first base coat, which is applied under a color coating, dries for 1 minute. The second and third layers - the color Shellac - two minutes each. Then fixative is applied to the nails and again they are placed under the lamp for 2 minutes. After that, the stickiness of the coating is eliminated with the help of a sponge moistened with a special liquid. Therefore, the whole procedure takes no more than 30-40 minutes, and at the end of it you can immediately do the usual things without fear that the nail polish will peel off, rub off or something will be printed on it.

Thirdly, even though Shellac is half composed of gel, it does not need to be cut off during correction. But this procedure is very tiring and requires some effort. Shellac is much simpler. You need to moisten cotton swabs in acetone or 99% isopropyl alcohol, apply them to each nail, fix with a band-aid or wrap with foil, and soak for 10 minutes. Then it is enough to remove the remains of the coating with a wooden stick to remove the cuticle.

And finally, shellac nails do not harm your health. It contains no hazardous substances such as toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalan. Nails do not need to be filed as before applying the gel, so Shellac can be reapplied immediately after removing the previous coating.

The disadvantages of shellac nail coating include the fact that it is not affordable for everyone. However, this one-time procedure is able to replace two, or even three, home or salon procedures using ordinary varnish. Also, the palette of this coating is still small - a little more than twenty colors. However, manufacturers do not stand still and the number of colors will undoubtedly increase. After all, at first there were only twelve of them.

Compared to all the advantages of this tool, these shortcomings seem so insignificant that Shellac coating will undoubtedly become even more popular in the future.
