How to make do -it-yourself cages for rabbits. Necessary materials:

• fine mesh roll 1.35 m (or more) wide and 8.1 m long;
• wire;
• special latches or clothespins;
• plywood sheet 1.35x1.35 m;
• gloves
• accessories for rabbits (wooden house, hay, shallow box, toys, bowls and goodies);
• bottles of frozen water.

1. Before you figure out how to make rabbit cages with your own hands, decide where exactly you want to place the cage. It should be as flat as possible, on which sunlight and shade are approximately the same, so that the rabbits do not overheat. In addition, there should not be strong drafts. Also, choosing a place, take care of the safety of the rabbit: make sure that wild animals or something that can scare the animal can not reach it.
   
2. Calculate how large the cell should be. Its size directly depends on the size of the rabbit and their number. If you have many rabbits, the cage should be large so that the animals are not crowded and they can play calmly. Oh, these rabbits! Cages for three rabbits are most optimal. Even if you have only one pet, make a house, as they say, with a margin. The size of such a cage is 1.35 meters long and 1.35 meters wide. The net should be high enough (0.6-0.8 meters is enough), so that the rabbits could not independently get out of it.
3. Cut 5.4 m of net from a roll, making marks every 1.35 meters. These will be the walls of the future cage. If the mesh is flexible enough, you can just bend it in two places. As a result, you will get a box with a square of 1.35x1.35 m at the base. If the grid is not flexible, cut it into four parts, each of which will be 1.35 m in length. For these purposes, it is very convenient to use wire cutters. By the way, it’s better to work with gloves when wearing gloves. So you do not hurt your hands. To obtain a box, weld the individual parts or wind them tightly.
4. Next, we make the bottom and roof of the cage. Cut two identical squares of 1.35x1.35 m from the grid roll. One is tightly welded (or tightly wound with wire) to the workpiece made in the previous paragraph.
5. Wrap the second square with wire on one side. It should open freely. This will be a kind of door. So that the rabbits themselves could not open the cage, make hooks from the wire on which the door will snap. Now no one but you can open the cage. Instead of hooks, you can use regular clothespins, but rabbits can gnaw them.
6. At the bottom of the cage, place a sheet of plywood 1.35 x 1.35 meters and securely fasten it. If this is not done, rabbits can get stuck in the net and damage them.
7. Put a low drawer in the corner. Put some dirty straw or special filler there.
   
   This is a toilet for rabbits. Since the animals are very clean, it’s not difficult to accustom them to such a toilet.
8. Lay the straw at the bottom of the cage. Place bowls for water and food. It’s better to attach them to the bottom of the cage, because rabbits can accidentally flip bowls. You can also put a small wooden house. It is advisable to purchase it at a pet store. Put your favorite animal toys in the cage. Also give him some goodies - fresh carrots are great. Put bottles of frozen water next to the cage: in the summer it is very hot, and the cooldown will come from the bottles.
9. Now you can let the animal in. Teach the rabbit to walk gradually: on the first day, he can stay in the cage for only 15 - 20 minutes, and then you can increase the intervals. Do not leave the rabbit in a cage outdoors for more than three days. Naturally, take him home in rainy and windy weather.
