Services of operational printing: lamination of documents

Lamination of documents is a special coating procedure designed to protect printing products from various kinds of damage. This technology protects paper from intentional or accidental damage and significantly extends its service life, ensuring safety and initial appearance for a long period of time. In addition, lamination of documents at times improves readability from paper-type media, and also gives additional color saturation to images. Most often they cover certificates, book covers, cards, calendars and other products that run the risk of being torn, wrinkled or filled with something due to their frequent use.

Today, paper lamination is most often used for advertising purposes, as it allows you to create reliable and high-quality advertising media in a short time and from practically available materials. The procedure for applying a protective coating for quickly wearing products, for example, for business cards and advertising brochures, is especially relevant. If necessary, lamination of photographs, diplomas, travel certificates and the like documents can also be done.

The coating procedure itself is divided into roll and batch. The latter is the most convenient and easiest way to laminate single sheets of paper. The film used in this technology can be of a very different format and type - both matte and glossy. If necessary, laminate a card, card, gift certificate and any other personal documents in the salon engaged in operational printing, this will be done by the batch method in literally ten to fifteen minutes. Roll lamination of documents is hot and cold. Hot coating technology is one of the most common and used in printing methods. In this case, lamination is performed on special installations, of the usual (up to A4) or industrial format (up to A0). The equipment does not differ in a complex control system and is ready for operation in just a couple of minutes, which allows printing houses to quickly work with large print runs. Cold lamination is a relatively new procedure, only gaining popularity.

cold lamination

Over a long period of time, the coating process was limited in application due to the fact that it was carried out exclusively at high temperatures and high pressures, which not any paper and paints could successfully withstand. The problem was solved with the invention of cold lamination technology, which made it possible to cover non-heat-resistant printing products and any synthetic materials.

You can order lamination of documents using one or another technology today in almost any salon of operational printing. The final cost will depend on the application technology, the thickness of the film used, the use of special effects, the required print run and paper size.
