So, what is the assembly of PVC panels with your own hands?
Sheathing the premises with plastic panels does not include preliminary surface preparation. No need for leveling, sanding old paint or plaster. PVC installation is the most “clean” and not very time-consuming way of finishing. Before proceeding with the installation of the structure, you need to take care of the necessary tools. You will find it useful: corners and guides, plastic panels, levels, a drill, self-tapping screws, clips with which you will fasten the panels, a hacksaw, tape measure, pencils and a square.
In order for the installation of PVC panels yourself to be done qualitatively, it is necessary to determine the direction of installation of the panels. You also need to calculate the total number of PVC elements and profiles for decoration. To do this, you need to measure the surface of the walls and ceiling, on which the panels will be mounted directly. You should buy material with some margin, because it will be cut off during the construction process.
If the surface on which we mount the panels is flat and the room is dry, then do-it-yourself installation of PVC panels on the walls immediately. They must be attached to the metal sheathing with self-tapping screws. And to PVC sheathing we glue brackets. First, metal or plastic guides are mounted on the prepared ceiling. You must do this beforehand, having beaten off the level in order to avoid irregularities. The distance between the profiles should be 60 centimeters. The most difficult stage of fastening, which includes the installation of PVC panels with your own hands, is the creation of a crate. After all, she is obliged to prepare a perfectly smooth surface. The crate must be fixed perpendicular to the panels. To do this, you will need to use the tape measure, chalk and slats to draw contours for installing the skin. Then we use a drill, a plumb line and a level, we fix the rails with screws and dowels to the surfaces. If the walls and ceilings are not very smooth, then the crate is aligned with gaskets made of wood and plywood. The panels are attached to each other due to special grooves. Therefore, there is nothing complicated in the assembly. When you finish covering the ceiling with PVC plates, then all the joints of the structure can be repaired with the help of small plastic skirting boards. It is not recommended to install the panels when the temperature is less than 0 ° C. Unpack PVC panels at temperatures above 10 ° C, otherwise the material may become deformed.
