Few people today have not heard of such a sport as bodybuilding (in other words, bodybuilding). Everyone has at least once seen these sportsmen with powerful muscles, they certainly will not leave anyone indifferent. Some admire bodybuilders, while others believe that they look unnatural, and some even feel disgusted when they see a body with muscles pumped to a huge size. So, what is bodybuilding, what is its difference from bodybuilding?
History of occurrence
It is believed that bodybuilding in its original form originated in ancient Greece, when entertaining performances involving several warriors were organized for the emperors. For such shows, athletically built men have always been chosen, able to scare rivals with only one look.
Nowadays, bodybuilding is a trend in sports, increasingly gaining popularity among the youth of all countries. In the USA, the heyday of bodybuilding came in the 50s and 60s. The famous American bodybuilder (this is the same as the bodybuilder) Charles Atlas, who is the creator of the theory of bodybuilding, had a huge impact on this. It was he who developed many exercises that promote weight gain and increase muscle mass. He founded his own company engaged in the development of bodybuilding, as well as the promotion of bodybuilders in the modeling business.
What is bodybuilding?
Bodybuilding is a sport whose main task is to maximize the development of all muscle groups and build an ideal body according to the standards adopted in bodybuilding. Translated from English. this word means "body structure." A bodybuilder is a person who regularly practices this sport; he can be a beginner or a professional. Bodybuilding is a very hard work, which in the end necessarily leads to results, if you follow all the rules.
Basic principles
The main principle of bodybuilding is to improve their appearance until the athlete is satisfied and finds spiritual harmony with his body. But to improve and develop their data in this sport, a whole system was invented, adhering to which you can quickly become the owner of an ideal body:
- Regular exercises in the gym mean physical exercises with weights (barbell, weights), which give a huge load on all muscle groups.
- A well-thought-out diet containing not only healthy foods, but also various steroid supplements, without which it is almost impossible to build muscle.
- An individual training program that must be agreed with a personal trainer or fitness consultant.
Each novice athlete must learn the basics of bodybuilding, because, in fact, a bodybuilder is a person who knows the features of his body and studies its capabilities.
What is the difference between bodybuilding and bodybuilding?
If you look at this question from the practical side, there are no differences. Bodybuilding arose in the USSR, while his brother was of foreign origin. Nowadays it’s already rare to hear the word “bodybuilding”, because athletes are used to calling this sport bodybuilding. In fact, a bodybuilder is the same bodybuilder, because both pursue the same goal - to train your body to ideal proportions.
Let us turn to history to understand the difference between two concepts: in Soviet times, athletes could not look like modern bodybuilders, because many protein supplements and protein enhancers were not available in the USSR. When you see photographs of famous Soviet bodybuilders of the 80s, then know that they all gained muscle mass in a natural way. Yes, perhaps their nutrition was not balanced, because a large amount of protein is needed for mass gain, but our athletes did not use weight gainers or other proteins that abound in the modern sports nutrition market.
Bodybuilding as a profession
This sport, like any other, can be of two types: amateur and professional. Let's talk about the second type, because every person engaged in fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle has the right to be called a bodybuilder, albeit an amateur.
Professional athletes devote their whole life to bodybuilding, they do not miss a single workout, and as a result, this hard work becomes the meaning of their life. However, they consciously choose this path, because it promises them many opportunities, fame and recognition. Remember how popular Arnold Schwarzenegger was? Bodybuilder, actor, model and, finally, a politician - no matter what business he does, he will forever remain in the memory of millions of people as the most famous American bodybuilder. By the way, for many of our compatriots he still remains an idol.

The success of bodybuilders is largely determined not only by the results they achieved, but also by the competitions in which they participated or won. And of course, the more prestigious this competition, the higher the status of the athlete, the more opportunities open to him.
