DIY radio-controlled car: two models

Buying a radio-controlled device today is not a problem. And a car, and a train, and a helicopter, and a quadrocopter. But it’s much more interesting to try to create a do-it-yourself radio-controlled car. We will provide you with two detailed instructions.

Model No. 1: what will we need?

To create this radio-controlled model you will need:

  • Model car (you can even take the usual Chinese from the market).
  • AGC auto.
  • VAZ auto door opening solenoid, 2400 Ah battery, 12 V.
  • A piece of rubber.
  • Radiator.
  • Electro-measuring tools.
  • Soldering iron, solder to it, as well as metalwork tools.
  • Gearbox.
  • The collector engine (for example, from a toy helicopter).

Model number 1: instructions for creating

And now we begin to create a do-it-yourself radio-controlled car:

  1. We will borrow a suspension bracket for a car from a purchased modelka, supplementing it with a 12 V battery.

  2. To assemble the gearbox, VAZ solenoids and ordinary plastic gears will be needed. To hang them, you need to make a thread both on the body and on the studs. When assembled, the structure should be presented in a block - as in the photo.

  3. After you have assembled the gearbox, be sure to check its performance.
  4. All is well? Then install the elements in the housing. It should look something like the following photo.

  5. Do not forget to install the radiator - without it, the microcircuit will undoubtedly overheat. The fasteners of this element are made using bolts.
  6. The next stage is the installation of microcircuits - a power driver and, in fact, a radio control. It will look like this.

  7. In conclusion, it remains to close the "insides" with the model body - and the self-made radio-controlled car is ready!

Model No. 2: necessary accessories

To create a machine you will need:

  • Car model.
  • Spare parts from an unnecessary collectible machine, printer (gears, traction, iron drives).
  • Copper tubes (sold in hardware stores).
  • Soldering iron.
  • Auto enamel.
  • Bolts.
  • The necessary electronics.
  • Battery.

Model No. 2: creating a device

We begin to make a radio-controlled car with our own hands:

  1. Bridges and differentials are copper tubes soldered with a soldering iron. You will also need traction and iron drives from the trophy, plastic gears (from the printer), so that in the end you get what is pictured.

  2. If you do not know how to close the differentials, then use the usual caps for tablets.
  3. At the end, parts can be coated with auto enamel.
  4. Now go to the frame. If you bought a modelka with an iron, then you are lucky, it’s better to replace the plastic one.
  5. Frames and steering tie are placed on the bridge. Soldering the latter may not be easy, so we advise you to fasten using bolts. Where to get the steering rod? Again, borrow from an unnecessary collectible model.

  6. If you want to make a toy more than once, then all the differentials are best set on bearings.
  7. An excellent variant of the gearbox is a reduction gear, which the microcircuit will already include from the remote control.
  8. The next step is to install the bottom of the model. Cut a hole in it for the gearbox, motor, cardan shafts.

  9. At this stage, microchips, shock absorbers, and a battery are installed.

  10. The work of painting the machine in the desired color is nearing completion. Details, lights, it is better to remove at this time. You can use ordinary paint for plastic, applying it in several layers.
  11. To give a retro look, after painting, sand the painted surfaces with sandpaper.

In conclusion, we will present you one of the drawings for radio-controlled models of machines - the receiver circuit.

Home-made radio-controlled car is a reality. Of course, you can’t make it from scratch - develop your experience on simpler models.
