Handy materials. Old tire
An excellent and inexpensive design option is the old tire from agricultural machinery. You can also use a tire from large construction equipment. The best option would be to use a tire from the combine, as its diameter is from 30 to 32 inches. These dimensions are quite enough to equip a place with cool water for one adult or for two children.

- There is the possibility of decoration with ordinary paint.
The only and significant minus is the small volume, which is not suitable for swimming and other things. You can only relax and bring down the temperature.
Pool of wooden pallets
Here it is worth starting with the fact that you can make a pool in the country with your own hands from pallets quite original and simple. The design of this device is great for creating walls. Pallets are knocked together. The more material available, the larger and more rounded the shape of the structure will be.
For example, for a medium-sized construction, 9 to 11 pallets will be needed. This pool can easily accommodate 3-4 adults.
Among the advantages, the following can be distinguished:
- The height of the pallet is enough to build a pool of sufficient volume.
- It is quite convenient to mount such additional elements as stairs, steps, wooden slides.
- To equip such an option, you do not have to dig a deep pit, which significantly saves time, effort and money.
- This option is not only an inexpensive pool, which you can build in your own country house, but it is also easy to dismantle it in order to move it to another place or remove it altogether.
- If the need arises, then you can easily repair or increase the volume, if you add several sections, that is, pallets.
Construction of the pool from the tire. Foundation preparation
Before proceeding to the process itself, it is necessary to prepare the site. Remove all rubbish, uproot all plants, shrubs, etc.
The arrangement of the pool at the cottage with your own hands step by step from the tire is as follows:
- The tire is laid to one side and the inside of the rubber layer is cut around the circumference. During this work, it is necessary to focus on the markup, which is applied to the products themselves initially. This will greatly facilitate the work and make the cutout quite smooth. The use of a grinder is not allowed, since the rubber will quickly crumble and stick to the disk.
- After that, you need to prepare a place for the sand layer. Two different methods are used here. The first is that you need to dig a small hole, a depth of 25-30 cm, and a diameter slightly larger than the tire. The soil is compacted, the sand layer is poured, watered and compacted. The thickness of the tamped layer should be 15 cm.
- You can use another method. In this case, you do not need to dig a recess, it will only be enough to smooth the surface where the tire will be. Then a sand layer is poured and a similar tampering procedure takes place. However, experts strongly recommend using only the first method, since in this case the foundation will be much more reliable.
Tread Installation
After the sand base has been prepared, you can proceed to the next steps.
- On a compacted layer of sand, lay a coating of a mixture of cement, sand and water. The thickness of this coating should also be 15 cm. And this is a minimum. As the main material, i.e. cement, a substance marked M300 is usually used. It is allowed to use the brand of the best quality, but not lower. The ratio for mixing the solution is 1: 3 (sand-cement). Fluid is added as needed. It will only affect the convenience of laying and distribution of the solution.
- Immediately after the layer is applied, while the coating remains in a liquid consistency, it is necessary to mount a tire on it, install it and slightly push it into the solution. In this case, voids form between the tire and the solution - they must be repaired. It will take another 2-3 buckets of the mixture.
- Next, you need to wait until the concrete dries. About 80% of its maximum strength, the layer will pick up 14 days after pouring. It will dry completely after 25-28 days. When at least the first term has passed, you can begin to decorate the tread outside.
Naturally, you must not forget about laying any kind of waterproofing material as a bottom. In addition, the inside of the tire is coated with waterproof paint. Thus, without any problems, a pool is built in the cottage with your own hands from improvised means.
Plastic bottles for the pool
No matter how amazing it may sound, a large number of plastic bottles can be used to create a pool. Naturally, besides them, you will need some more material, namely: wooden boards and whetstones, gravel.
Dimensions of the bars - 25 x 50 mm. Gravel fraction - 5/20. The length of the board will determine the length of the base for the structure where the sand and gravel pillow will be filled.
Practical part: earthworks and formwork
To assemble the pool in the country with your own hands from improvised materials, namely from bottles and boards, you must follow the following instructions:
- The site selected for construction is cleared of debris, a depression of 30 cm is made. Further, it is important to note that the formwork needs to be done more on the sides by about 30 cm. For example, if the sides of the object are 300 cm, then the foundation pit should be 320-330 in length cm.
- Next comes the time to install the formwork for the structure. The installation step of the bars is 100-120 cm. In order to successfully connect all the boards into a solid frame, experts advise using a metal corner. For example, a furniture-type product with dimensions of 40 x 40 x 16 is perfect.
Foundation preparation
After the formwork has been assembled and the foundation pit dug, you can proceed with the following actions:
- The wood structure is installed inside the recess. The soil inside the formwork is compacted lightly. In order to prevent weed growth, chemicals can be used. Next, a layer of sand, as well as gravel, is filled up. The thickness of each coating should be from 12 to 15 cm.
- In the event that there is no gravel, for example, you can use a reinforcing mesh, which can be assembled from rods. For this, the rods should be tied together with ordinary wire. The grid frame must be installed so that it does not touch the sand layer. It is allowed to lay rods on a brick, for example.
- Before proceeding with concrete pouring, it is necessary to determine in advance where the drain hole will be located. In the process of pouring it will need to be aligned with the plane of the surface of the pool.
- At this stage, it is necessary to fill the concrete mixture. It is recommended to use a concrete mixer, and to seal the concrete itself after pouring with a long wooden lath or shovel.
- Do-it-yourself will only be able to build a pool at the cottage only after 14-18 days, when the concrete is sufficiently dry.
- A landmark is set so that the masonry is accurate. A cement-sand mortar is laid along a stretched reference point. Immediately a plastic container is laid on a fresh solution, which is pre-filled with sand. The bottles are tied together using 3 mm wire, and the masonry process itself resembles working with a brick. The optimal wall height for such a pool is 100-150 cm.
Completion of work
After the main installation has been completed, you can proceed to the final finish. To do this, it is necessary to cover all the cracks and voids in the walls with a solution until an even, solid base is obtained.
If a layer thickness of more than 3 cm is required to hide all defects, it is better to resort to the use of reinforcing stacks. It is attached with screws to the bottom of the bottles. The final wall coating is painting with a waterproof substance in 1, and preferably in 2 layers. After painting, it is best to wait at least 5 days before filling the pool with water. Care Tips
The water in the pools is polluted quite quickly and can become a favorable environment for the development of harmful bacteria. In addition, fallen leaves, debris, etc. often accumulate on the surface of the water. Therefore, careful care of the finished structure is necessary.
For small pools, for example from a tire, it is realistic to make a roof to cover them. Small debris can be caught using a net with small cells. Water in such places must be changed every two to three days. It can be used for irrigation of crops.
Water purification
It is quite difficult to build an indoor pool in a summer house with your own hands, and therefore you need to know how to purify water. There are several ways.
You can resort to the usual physical cleaning. Large and small debris is removed using a long net. The inner surface is cleaned with a brush and a vacuum cleaner. Installing a water filter is recommended.
You can resort to chemical cleaning. Here you will have to use special substances that purify the water and normalize the pH in the water. The use of chemicals prevents the appearance of algae and also removes even small particles of fat.
