If in a dream we spend one third of our lives, then in bed even more, indulging in all kinds of pleasures. Therefore, this particular place should be as convenient as possible. If we already have a finished bed, you can make a headboard with your own hands from anything. The main thing is to include imagination and think about functionality and comfort.
For example, sometimes in the headboard, made with your own hands, put sliding or
hinged shelves. In this case, you no longer need a
bedside table or bedside table, and the space is used rationally. Little things will always be at hand and at the same time hidden (if the shelves or drawers are pulled out). If we settle in a new place, you can buy the simplest bed - you can make the headboard with seemingly strange materials such as wooden pallets, old doors, screens ... It is important that it is comfortable: if you like to have breakfast in bed or watching movies in the evenings, you need a reliable support for the back.
So, if you have a bed, the headboard with your own hands can be made from old pallets. They can be sanded, coated with paint or varnish as desired, use recesses as improvised shelves. So that they do not move, they can be attached to the base with corners. The craftsmen make the soft head of the bed with their own hands out of pillows - both small and large. And also from large plates - for example, fiberboard or drywall. The softening layer can be made of synthetic winterizer or foam rubber. Then pick up fabric for upholstery, best of all - natural. Use the corners or screws to mount the bed. Cloth the headboard with your own hands and then fasten it with a stapler. You can decorate with decorative furniture nails.
Another original way is to use a large board (cut tree trunk). After grinding and polishing it, we get the headboard in eco-style. But an exotic interior can be created using carved openwork screens. For convenience, it is better to make the headboard high - at least 70-80 centimeters above the plane of the bed. Original ideas are connected with other materials: for example, an old door or blinds, boards of any format and size will do. And if you use a grill, you can either attach small shelves to it, or hang various trifles on hooks. Design depends on the concept of the room. For example, if the interior is elegant and seasoned, a soft headboard with upholstery is suitable. And in exotic rooms, openwork screens will look great. cotton fabric with a large pattern, we get a modern, laid-back style. Plain material with a silky or velvety surface, noble luster, elegant ornament in the upholstery is suitable for elegant bedrooms. Of the non-traditional forms of the head, you can mention the basket, cradle or canopy. Soft draperies can also be used for bed decor.
