Childhood

Carier start
1999 - this is exactly the year when South Mikhail became a professional. Tennis has become the meaning of his life. But the first serious success came to the young man only three years later in Stuttgart.
A deafening victory was followed by a black streak. Michael got into a car accident and got a concussion. Then there was a serious illness and the death of his father. All this unsettled the South. But in the end, he was able to pack up and play at the Davis Cup as part of the Russian team.
Kafelnikov and Safin helped our team get to the finals. Nevertheless, they made mistakes, and the team captain - Shamil Tarpishchev, entrusted the decisive match to the South. That was the right decision. Michael won, declaring himself to the whole world. The tennis player dedicated his victory to the memory of his father.

32 - it was under this number in the world ranking (after winning the Davis Cup) that Mikhail Yuzhny was listed. With a racket, he made his way to major international tournaments. The audience fell in love with him for his persistent character and originality.
