In recent years, graphic design in manicure has gained great popularity. Especially often it is chosen by young girls who do not really like floral patterns and excessive decorativeness. The advantages of such designs are not only that they look unbroken, expressive and bold. Using graphic lines, you can emphasize the beauty of nails, as well as hide some not very pleasant features of a natural shape.

Clear lines of different thicknesses, mosaics, colored and transparent “windows”, color blocking are the main elements of style.
More often straight lines are used, parallel or intersecting at different angles. But rounded elements are also acceptable in design. A design can consist of both large blocks and small, detailed ones.
The most commonly used materials include:
- acrylic and gel paints;
- powder, velvet sand, colored sprinkles;
- rhinestones, opals, pearl half beads;
- pebbles of shinju, fragments of shells;
- kamifubuki of various regular forms, "dragon scales";
- "broken glass";
- foil, gold leaf.
An excellent tool for the master will be plates for stamping and sliders with graphic design. You can use a novelty in the work - gel-spider line, which allows you to apply multiple thin lines. The main working tool for performing a manicure with graphic design can be considered a linear brush, but you can also use a regular stationery liner.
Actual colors
Today, the trend is the range of noble purple. Natural shades are very popular: swamp, sand, clay red, terracotta, muted blue. These tones are especially good for a matte manicure.
Lovers of juicy shades of berries and fruits can give free rein to fantasy. Graphic designs made in monochrome black and white or with the addition of silver look great.
Execution technique
Before completing the design, think over a concept, decide whether all nails or only some of them will be covered with graphic patterns. Separately, traditionally distinguish the nails of the ring fingers, but this is not a strict rule, you can experiment with any. Recently, nail design of thumbs is gaining popularity.
Perform all hygiene procedures, treat the side rollers and cuticles, polish the surface of the nails. File the ends so that the nails acquire the same size and shape, if necessary, grow the missing corners with gel or mixed with acrylic powder base (if the damage is slight). Remember: graphic design with its even lines and corners is only suitable for the correct form of nails. Deficiencies and negligence will be too clearly visible.
Degrease the surface. Apply the primer and let it dry for at least a minute in the air. Cover the nails with the base, trying to level the surface, dry in a lamp. That's all, you can start design.
Thin lines
This option of graphic manicure is simple in appearance, but this is precisely its trump card. The nails look sophisticated and elegant, and thanks to the discreet range, pleasant to the eyes, it will be appropriate to look even in the office. Such a design will be combined with any clothes.
As a basis, you can choose beige or peach color. Apply it in 1-3 layers, depending on the pigmentation. You can go the other way and immediately use a camouflage base.
It is better to draw strips and arrows with gel paint or paste. The line will be sharper than the one that can be acrylic. You can use a liner for decor, but the thickness of the shaft should not be too small, otherwise the lines will not be visible.
Brush need to use synthetic with a short pile. Dipping it in the paint, do not rush to draw. Rub a little on the palette with a brush so that the paint is evenly distributed between the fibers, then the lines will be clear.
Sliders with similar elements are also on sale. Their use significantly speeds up the process. You just need to cut out the necessary elements and briefly lay them on a sponge moistened with water with the decorative side up. When the film with the picture is detached from the base, simply pry it with tweezers and transfer it to the nail. Aligning the pattern with an orange stick or silicone brush, let it dry a little, then cover with a base, dry and apply a top. You can complement the design with a small amount of black broths or dotted dots.
Color transition
Today, such options are a real trend. Along with delicate color transitions, clear, concise lines are also popular in gradient designs, in which shades change each other sharply, without blurring.
In the photo, a graphic manicure with a color transition looks rich and catchy, it may even seem that to implement such an idea you need a whole palette of shades of one gamut.
In fact, we need only two colors: white and burgundy. The remaining shades are mixed from them.
This design is performed from the cuticle towards the end. If you are not sure that you can handle straight lines and corners, use sticky applicators.
Drop one drop of white and beige varnish on the palette at a small distance from each other. Cover the first triangle at the nail growth zone with burgundy varnish and dry in a lamp. Add a little white varnish to the burgundy drop to soften the color. Draw a strip and dry. In the same way, mixing white varnish drop by drop, get the following shades and paint over the remaining strips.
An important point: if you make such a transition on several nails, draw immediately on all. It is difficult to repeat the resulting shade, it will take extra time. Once you have the right color, work with each nail in stages, and only then mix a white drop for the next strip.
After completing, cover the design with the top and paint the remaining nails as you wish. You can complement the design with inlaid transparent or burgundy rhinestones.
Negative space
Such transparent inserts are very easy to perform, but give any design a highlight, due to the fact that they create the effect of depth.
This trendy graphic manicure can be done on both your own and extended nails. If you are covering natural nails, it is advisable to use a camouflage base. Apply it in a thin layer and dry. Then gently draw a beige strip on one side and a light blue on the other. Work out the space between them with a thick transparent base. Make thin layers, drying each. When you get the desired coating density, evaluate the result, if necessary, trim the nail with a transparent base. Stick thin black stripes on the border between the colored areas and the transparent. Overlay with a high gloss top.
To make the manicure look like a completed composition, add the same black stripes on several nails.
If you apply the extension method, the first layer of gel should be camouflage. Add volume, make alignment and form the apex zone with a transparent sculptural gel. This will allow you to get the depth of the picture.
Texture contrast
The use of matte, glossy and velvet surfaces in one design is a common design technique for graphic manicure.
On short nails, this option will look very good, but it is suitable for medium length, and for extended nails of any shape.
To create a textured surface, you can use velvet sand, fine sparkles, velor sprinkles or acrylic powder. In design, you can also use velor, matte, satin top - any that is in the arsenal. Even a simple drawing will look spectacular.
The procedure is as follows. Cover the nail with a sandy design at the base, cover with beige varnish and dry. Cover with a top, polymerize and remove stickiness. Paint the area near the cuticle with varnish of the same color scheme as sand (for example, gray). Dry it. Draw a triangle with the base, and then, without drying, sprinkle with black sand and send to the lamp, not forgetting that in such cases the time should be doubled. Next draw the base of the next sector and also cover the sand a tone lighter (wet asphalt). After drying, apply gray sand to the third sector in the same way. Every time after drying, do not forget to remove the remaining sand with a hard estimate. It is not necessary to overlap the sand with the top.
To top it off, add a few crisp strokes with a linear brush and gel paint.
