How to make a ball of paper for interior decoration

Original paper crafts are a wonderful way to decorate your home or office on holidays and weekdays. Today I will share with readers in several ways how easy it is to make paper balls with my own hands. I’ll clarify right away that the instructions given are quite universal and with their help you can easily make decorative elements for decorating the interior, Christmas decorations and even elegant lampshades.

Of course, without drawings and diagrams, explaining how to make a ball out of paper will not be easy, so I specifically selected not-so-complicated designs.

A cute ball for decorating the room can be made from postcards, magazines, colored paper, ornamental cardboard. In order to glue the ball, we need modules in the shape of a circle. You can make them according to the template of any size. After you cut the figures, draw them in such a way that a square is inside the circle. After that, bend the segments of the circle face up along the marking line. To get a volume ball, it is necessary to glue together each module on the curved sides from the inside.

I can’t name the exact number of modules, since it depends on the size of the finished ball. If you want to complicate the design a little, you can glue one flower made of paper in the center of each circle, taking only its core with glue. Petals can be freely bent.

The following instruction will be on how to make a ball out of paper in silence. For those who do not know what it is, I will explain. Quiet - a special kind of tissue paper, somewhat similar to tracing paper. To make the ball you need 6 sheets.

We start by folding all the sheets in half in the middle. Then from one end we fold all the sheets with an accordion so that the edge is no more than 2 cm in height.
We intercept the resulting “fan” in the middle with wire and immediately fix the tape on which the finished ball will be suspended. From both ends we cut the edges at an angle so that the finished design looks more natural. Actually, our design is almost ready, it remains to carefully spread the paper. We lift the first layer almost perpendicularly, the rest we distribute evenly. Six layers of paper will make up the upper hemisphere and the same, respectively, lower. These paper balls look like giant chrysanthemums. They may well serve as decoration of a house or summer house.

Perhaps some of you already know how to make a ball out of paper using volumetric elements in the form of a cone. However, since this construction is extremely simple, I will give a description of it.

To make such a ball, we need double-sided paper. Using the template, cut out circles and cut them into two halves. Note that the diameter of the future ball depends on the radius of the base element. We turn each half of the circle into a cone and glue along the seam. Then we connect the cones with each other. Do not forget to attach a loop so that the ball can be hung on a Christmas tree.

Using this technology, you can easily make Christmas decorations in the form of fruits or berries. To do this, just attach leaves of a suitable shape to the ball, and now an apple or a blackberry is ready.

There are many ways to make a ball of paper, and here is another one of them. In general, it differs little from papier-mâché technique, but in this case we use a balloon as a blank. Instead of glue, it is best to take flour paste. To begin with, a layer of paste is coated with an inflated ball. We tear paper like newsprint (thicker does not fit) into small pieces and each of them we glue to the surface of the ball as densely as possible to each other. After the first layer dries, add the second, then the third and so on to the desired thickness. This work is painstaking and slow.

After the last layer dries, you can let the air out of the balloon and decorate the finished structure as you wish.

I hope the recommendations on how to make a ball out of paper come in handy and become a good foundation for creativity. Due to its simplicity, even children can easily use these instructions.
