Timofey Mozgov (photo below) is a Russian professional basketball player, player of the NBA Brooklyn Nets team. It acts as a center. He is the NBA champion in the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. He became one of the first Russians who managed to achieve this (along with Alexander Kaun). He plays for the Russian national basketball team. At the 2012 Summer Olympics (London), together with his team, he won a bronze medal. Timofey Mozgov also took the medal from EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania (FIBA European Championship), then the Russian team took 3rd place in the championship.
Biography
Born July 16, 1986 in the city of Leningrad (former RSFSR, now Russia, St. Petersburg). In his family, everyone was tall, under two meters and above, but Timofey Mozgov’s growth was a record - 216 centimeters. He was the fourth son in the family.
He grew up and was brought up in a sports family. His father, a former handball player, played for the SKA club, always dreamed that his children go in for sports and succeed. As a schoolboy, Timofey enrolled in the local basketball section, where he met coach Kira Trzeskal, who was engaged in the search for young talents.
Early career
At the age of sixteen, Timothy began to study at the St. Petersburg sports boarding school, where he trained under the leadership of Anatoly Steinbock. Here he began to play as part of the LenVo club. After a while, the team had a sponsor of Spartak BC, in which Timofey subsequently had to go for the revealed talents and potential. However, the transition failed, and the young man ended up in the club CSKA, where he was quickly transferred to the reservists in Super League B.
As part of the “army” Timothy Mozgov was unable to break into the base. Returning to St. Petersburg, he received a transfer request from Khimki-2 club, which also plays in Super League B. After a joint training session with the team, Timofey Mozgov, whose growth was the largest in the team, was credited to the main team of Khimki because I liked the head coach Sergei Elevich. Here he played from 2006 to 2010.
NBA Career
