Fabio Fognini was born in May 1987 in the Italian city of San Remo. The boy began to play tennis at the age of four. From a young age, Fabio was different from other athletes not only in his temperament, but also in his ability to get out of the most difficult situations. These qualities often helped him in his future career.

The professional career of tennis player Fabio Fognini began in 2004 with tournaments of the Futures and Challenger series. A year later, the Italian won his first victory in competitions in Murcia (Spain), and two months later - in Bergamo.
In 2006, Fognini won the tournament in Syracuse, and then said goodbye to the “futures”. In 2008, he became the best on clay courts of Turin and Genoa, and a year later - in San Benedetto del Tronto.
In 2008, Fabio made his debut in the Grand Slam - at the Australian Open, and then at Wimbledon and the US Open. However, the young tennis player could not go further than the first round.
In 2010, Fabio Fognini continued to improve his game. He won three Challenger tournaments: Genoa, Naples and Santiago. He also managed to get to the third round of Wimbledon and Roland Garros.

In 2011, the Italian couple Fognini - Bolelli for the first time became the best in the ATP competition in the Croatian Umag. At the US Open, they reached the semifinals, where they lost to future winners of the tournament.
Two years later, the Italian duo became the best in the competition in Buenos Aires (Argentina), and they also reached the finals in Acapulco and Beijing.
The year 2015 was truly triumphant for a tennis player. Together with the same Simone Bolelli, he became the winner of the Grand Slam tournament - Australian Open. In the finals, they defeated the famous French blowing May - Erber in two sets.
A little later, Italians tried to repeat their success on the courts of the French Roland Garros tournament, but here they reached only the semi-finals. According to the results of the season, Fabio Fognini in the ATP doubles ranking took 10th place.
In October 2016, an Italian tennis player paired with a Swede Robert Lindstedt won the tournament in Chinese Shenzhen.
