It is also known that they considered sacred oak groves. There is a version that the word "druid" comes from the Celtic "oak". Therefore, it is not surprising that the Celts present a real cult of the tree, and the person who harmed him was subjected to terrible punishment. Even peeling the bark was considered a crime, for which the navel was cut out and nailed to the injured tree for the offender, after which the offender was twisted around the trunk, as a result of which the insides of the unfortunate wrapped around the tree.
