Feeding bowl and bird feeder, feeder feeder

Helping birds, we help ourselves. A filled bird feeder will help you grow a good harvest: grateful birds will not be indebted, destroying harmful insects. And how much joy your child will experience, having poured food and watching how birds flock to his treats!

A bird feeder is not a difficult thing. Make it together with the child from any improvised materials. For example, from a large plastic bottle.

You will need: a bottle, a marker, two spoons of wood, a knife, scissors, a nail, a rope. We do so. We take a bottle, measure from the base 7-8 cm, put a cross. On the opposite side - the same. We make incisions in the place of crosses and cut out small circles. Above each circle, draw from the back side a cross and a notch (also crosswise). Insert the handle of a spoon (or some analogue) into a round hole, fix it in a cross-shaped incision located opposite. Exactly the same manipulations are carried out with the second spoon. The bird feeder is almost ready. It remains to make a hole with a hot nail under the neck of the bottle and thread a rope through them. Let the bird feeder be filled with your baby’s hands. Give pleasure to your baby. By the way, next to the feeder, a drinking bowl for birds (especially in the hot season) will not hurt.

Now let's talk about other feeders - feeder.
Can I make feeder feeders with my own hands? Of course. Below is one of the options.

Material: two workpieces (steel, 80 mm by 60 mm, thickness 1 mm), wire (2 pieces, length 20 mm, diameter 6 mm), auxiliary workpiece (80 mm by 30 mm, thickness 5 mm), metal mesh (cells 4-6 mm).

Tools: scales, crucible (for melting lead), drills (6 mm, 16 mm), ruler with a pencil, vernier caliper, punch, scriber, anvil, hammer, pliers, drill (ideally a drilling machine), hacksaw (for metal )

Work. We start with the selection of material (two tires - steel and auxiliary), the metal should be soft. Cut 2 pieces (60 by 80 mm and 30 by 80 mm). We fold the blanks so that the 2 main ones are outside, the auxiliary in the middle. We align, focusing on a length of 80 mm.

An auxiliary blank is required for casting a mold in the form of an ellipse. This form is suitable for many conditions, is stable on the ground and gives strength to the feeder. We combine and fix the “sandwich” that we received (grabbing at the ends by welding). Fasten the assembly in a vice (short side up).

From the corners (the distance to the side and top is 10 mm) we put a marking where there will be holes for the stoppers of the 2 halves of the molds. Now we core, we make holes (through, a drill of 6 mm).

We tighten the forms on the stoppers. Cut two pieces of wire (6 mm, length 20 mm). We grind each pin on one side by 10 mm, so that the pins fit into the hole without play. Unprocessed (10 mm) are driven into the pot in one half (if it staggers, boil the pot). Then we core, marking the middle point of the "sandwich", clamped in a vise. Pay attention to stability and reliability of fastening. We center the drilling machine so that the hole is perpendicular to the surface. We mark on the drill the depth of the desired dive (no more than 5 mm should remain before the exit). We pass first with a 6 mm drill, then the second - 16 mm. Expand the details. We remove the plate. Mark the edges (17 mm) and cut off the excess. Leave the shoulders on top (16 mm). To make the casting convenient, we make a pot, we expand the drill with a 16 mm neck. In the grid for the feeder, cut a strip of 80 mm by 50 mm. We apply a smaller edge (50 mm) to the side of one half and mark the place of sweats for our net. On both sides of the mold we make symmetrical cuts along the profile and to the depth of the mesh.

The final stage. We make wire ears for fastening. We saw 2 sweating under the ear. Halves should fit snugly. Grind off pointed corners and grind roughness. All. The work is done!
