The monetary system of the Republic of Belarus has recently undergone strong changes. The denomination has passed. For the first time, citizens of the Republic of Belarus took up money of a new type.
New money
New money of Belarus was introduced into circulation: banknotes and coins. The size of banknotes is 150X74 mm and does not differ from old-style banknotes. Their semantic content, national patterns have not changed at all. Only the design is made in the European style.
All banknotes were printed in 2009. This is evidenced by the signature of the head of the National Bank P.P. Prokopovich and the use of the old word "five fifths" instead of the current "five fifths." All these errors will be corrected in the manufacture of the subsequent batch of money.
From a statement by the head of the National Bank, it became known that Belarus has no plans to build its own mint. This is due to the fact that its production is very expensive and unprofitable for such a small state.
Banknotes should have been put into circulation earlier. But this did not happen due to inflation in the Republic of Belarus and the global economic crisis. The cost of making money has almost paid off. Remained the costs of reconfiguring ATMs and other equipment, making changes in accounting, exchange of banknotes.
Coins
In connection with the denomination, coins appeared in monetary circulation. This happened for the first time in the history of the Belarusian ruble. Previously, the Republic of Belarus was considered a state in which only commemorative coins were printed. Money consists of small, large cents and a few rubles.
In total, eight coins appeared in circulation. They were released in a circulation of 35,000 units. Banknotes are divided into three colors. The obverse for all the money of the new sample is the same. The emblem of the Republic of Belarus and the numbers "2009" flaunted on it. Coins differ by reverse. Banknotes face value and ornament.
National patterns and weaving are the main symbols of the state. Therefore, it is no coincidence that even the flag of the Republic of Belarus contains elements of these symbols in its design. With the help of them, Belarusian masters display their patriotic feelings for family, population, land, traditions, nature.
Money is minted in mints in Lithuania and Slovakia. Coins of Belarus in form, design and dignity resemble banknotes of the Soviet Union. Therefore, there is no confusion when using them. Money has an attractive appearance. They are made of lightweight materials and are light in weight.
However, new coins of Belarus, however, possess. The quality of money depends on the properties of the metals used. They may be subject to oxidation. They were stored for a long time, and dark spots appeared on some bank notes. Local spots on the solvency of money do not affect. Similar situations occurred with coins of other countries.
The National Bank has already issued some money to replace such coins. Small coins of Belarus (this nuance is well reflected in the photo) are small in size compared to the money of other states, and are inconvenient to use.
Ruble
The Mint issued two types of money: 1 and 2 rubles. They are made of white metal. Banknotes of 2 rubles have a rim of golden metal. The reverse depicts the denomination and ornament, which embodies the desire of the Belarusian people for happiness, for freedom. All ornaments on money are different, but their semantic load is the same. Edge of coins is ribbed.
Banknotes of 1 ruble are made of steel with a copper-nickel coating. Banknotes of 2 rubles are made of bimetal: the middle is steel, the edges are steel with a copper-brass coating.
Pennies
The Mint issued three types of large banknotes: 50, 20, 10 kopecks and three types of small coins: 5, 2, 1 kopeck. Large coins of Belarus have a golden hue. On the obverse, kopecks have the same image as all money. On the reverse of large coins, the denomination and ornament flaunt, which personifies the fertility and vitality of the Belarusian land. Banknote edge with segments. They are made of steel with copper-brass coating.
Small coins have a copper tint. On the reverse, they depict the denomination and ornament, which personifies the prosperity and wealth of the Belarusian people. The edge of the money is smooth. Small banknotes are made of copper coated steel.
Coins appeared in the country for the first time in the history of the Belarusian ruble, but have already entered into circulation. Despite its small flaws, all issued coins of the Republic of Belarus are legal tender in this state.
