Tools and materials

To make wedding flowers, you need to purchase special tools and accessories that will be needed in the process. A few useful tips for beginning masters will help determine the choice of materials.

  • Satin ribbons. As a rule, experienced craftswomen prefer to use the atlas. This material is very easy to cut with scissors and holds the desired shape well. However, sometimes, if there is no satin ribbon at hand, you can use satin. But this material has a drawback: it reacts strongly to fire. Therefore, products from such a fabric can burn very easily.
  • Wooden stick. This material will be a flower foot.
  • Foam ball or papier-mâché. This will be a replacement for the floristic basis.
  • Scissors. The most common tool in any needlework are scissors. So that the cut of the material turns out neat, they should be sharpened well before work.
  • Tweezers. Experienced craftsmen advise to prepare two tools at once: one of them is straight with thin ends, and the other with curved edges. The latter will be more convenient to hold the workpiece during its firing. Using a thin tool, small parts are created, for example, stamens.
  • Lighter, matches or candle. They will help melt the edges of the workpieces, thereby connecting the parts to each other.
  • Glue gun. With it, all the resulting petals are joined together in a single composition. Masters advise using a pistol with a rod of seven millimeters.
  • A ruler or centimeter for measuring pieces of fabric.
  • Colored threads and needles.

Ready-made kanzashi bouquet can be decorated with beads, beads, braid, decorative feathers and lace. The composition is completely dependent on the imagination of the craftswoman.

DIY wedding accessory

The first step is to create a foundation. For this, a papier-mâché ball is carefully wrapped with threads of a certain color. Then a wooden stick is inserted into the base. For greater stability it can be fixed with glue. After complete drying, the flower leg is wrapped in a satin ribbon. It turned out the basis of the bouquet.

The next step is to make flowers. The easiest way to create buds with pointed petals. For this, a square with a side of five centimeters is cut out of the atlas and folds once. The corners of the resulting triangle are bent on both sides. Then a similar action should be repeated.

The petal is fixed with tweezers. The excess piece of fabric is cut with scissors. The slice must be burned with a lighter. The edge of the petal slightly moves with thin tweezers so that the workpiece can stick together. For a wedding kanzashi bouquet, you need about 105 of these petals.

The blanks are fixed on the base with a glue gun. Craftswomen recommend sticking the petals in a circle, observing the following sequence: the first, second and third row of the composition is 20 petals, the fourth is 19 pieces of such blanks, the fifth row is 15 petals, the sixth is 9 petals, and only two petals fall on the seventh row. The result is a very effective composition. With the final step, the kanzashi bouquet for the bride is decorated with lace, beads and feathers.
