Lice and fleas are parasitic insects that not only suck blood, but also are carriers of various pathogens of infections. It would seem that can such small insects be dangerous to humans? But this is true, therefore, if you notice a flea or louse on yourself, urgent measures should be taken to destroy them.
Fleas in humans are very rare: as a rule, they jump from domestic animals to try also human blood. It should be noted that young fleas are black in color, and bloodsuckers “with experience” acquire a brown color. Fleas on a person move easily and jump well enough. Therefore, in an instant, they can be anywhere.
Where can a person get fleas?
Most often, fleas appear due to pets. They can also be brought by a person from the street or, say, from the basement of a high-rise building, where all kinds of things are stored, as well as cats, rats, dogs huddle. If you just go to a place for a couple of minutes, a flea can jump on you, and not even one.
Therefore, going out from there, be sure to inspect your clothes for fleas on it. Remember: lice and fleas in humans are dangerous parasites that cause a lot of problems and discomfort, so the places where fleas live need to be treated, and pets should be rid of these insects.
How to deal with fleas
Nowadays there are a lot of different "chemistry" with which you can once and for all get rid of these little bloodsuckers. Sprays, collars for animals, drops, special shampoos - all these are very effective means to quickly get rid of fleas.
How to handle the apartment
If fleas were detected in a person, then you need to immediately process the apartment. It is carried out as follows:
- Vacuum clean all surfaces thoroughly to get rid of flea larvae.
- Carpets should be taken outside and, if possible, washed using chemical means.
- Pillows, bedspreads to take out to the street, where they should be treated with a spray and dried.
- Things to mash in hot water.
- Using insecticidal drugs to process the apartment. Do not forget about the respirator and gloves.
It should be noted that the apartment is treated very carefully: you need to spray the aerosol behind the furniture, into all the cracks, under the baseboard. The windows must be closed. The treated room must be left at least for 2-3 hours, and then carefully ventilated. It is undesirable to wash the treated surfaces for 3-4 days. If necessary, re-treatment should be carried out after 1-2 weeks, since new fleas will hatch from the eggs and cause discomfort, as before.
So, if you notice a flea on yourself, then try to find the reason for its appearance in your house: treat your pets. In the event that a flea was accidentally brought from the street, do not worry, because it alone, most likely, will not take root. If it was decided to disinfect the room, be sure to use gloves and a respirator.
