Viktor Travin was born in the German Democratic Republic in Frankfurt an der Oder on a spring day on May 9, 1961. The journalist himself says that according to all the laws of life, he should have been given a different name - Yuri, in honor of the first cosmonaut of the Earth, who flew into space a month before his birth. However, since he was born on the day of the Great Victory Day, the name Victor was chosen. Translated from Latin, it means “winner”.
The father of the future journalist was a military man, he was sent to the GDR to perform services by order of the Soviet command. Prior to this, he lived with his wife and ten-year-old daughter in a small Ukrainian town. My father was the first to go to the GDR to take up a new position, and in December 1959 a family joined him, later Victor was born.
