Manic syndrome: features of the development and treatment of the disease

Manic syndrome is a specific condition of a person, which is characterized by a hormonal surge, increased alertness. Many of the patients do not even imagine that their health is in serious danger. For the first time, attacks of this disease can occur at a fairly young age. Although you should not think that the symptoms appear in everyone the same way.

manic syndrome
There are several degrees of bipolar disorder: the first (severe form of mood swings), the second (mild form), mixed (an attack of depression and mania can occur at the same time). This disease is very common among creative individuals, as a person believes that during this period he is literally able to "roll mountains". Very often, patients do not fully understand their condition and do not imagine that they need to be treated.

Manic syndrome encourages a person to make the wrong decisions, which then negatively affect his life, and which he would never have taken if he was healthy. In addition, the patient is characterized by irritability, which he cannot control, so the latter can calmly yell at a stranger on the street. However, in most cases, a person cannot recognize the onset of an attack. As for depression, in people with bipolar disorder, it intensifies.

manic depressive syndrome symptoms
Manic syndrome can occur in different ways. Changes in mood are inconsistent. Sometimes a person may be in a state of mania or depression for several months or even years. A person begins to behave inappropriately: too peppy, he has a lot of unrealizable ideas, he makes erroneous decisions, is in euphoria.

Manic-depressive syndrome symptoms have the following: an excessive feeling of happiness, a sudden change of mood, rudeness and anger that is unusual for a person, very fast speech, talkativeness, increased energy, excessive sexual desire, distraction, excessive self-esteem. Sometimes the patient may experience hallucinations.

Manic syndrome in the stage of depression has the following symptoms: anxiety, sadness, bad mood, thoughts of suicide, self- doubt, very low self-esteem, feelings of inferiority and uselessness, impaired appetite, sleep, disorder of feelings and thoughts. There is also a breakdown, difficulty in making decisions, crying attacks that cannot be controlled.

schizophrenia syndromes
This disease is incurable, but modern drugs can alleviate symptoms and adapt a person to society as much as possible. The intensity of the syndrome determines the dose of drugs and the duration of their use. Patients with a less severe form of the disease can be treated at home with antipsychotics. In addition, the doctor may prescribe mood stabilizers. In complex cases, maintenance therapy is carried out in a hospital setting.

The main thing to remember is that mania and schizophrenia syndromes are different diseases that develop and are treated differently.
