Wasps, along with flies and mosquitoes, can cause infections, including intestinal infections. In addition, after a wasp sting, an allergic reaction is possible, in some cases leading to death.
If this year you already found hornet's nests on your site, then do not doubt: next year they will settle with you again. With the advent of May, scout wasps begin to look for suitable places, visiting primarily where the nests were before. How to deal with annoying and dangerous insects?
Not all funds from wasps offered to us in stores and markets are effective and will give the expected results. In baits, for example, contains an attractant (an attracting substance). Of course, having been treated with such a drug, wasps die. But insects will flock to the bait not only from your site, but also from adjacent ones.
If you are building a house or have decided on a major overhaul, do not forget about preventative treatment: smear (blow out with foam) all the recesses and cracks that wasps could like.
Be sure to remove all the old nests, otherwise, destroying one family of insects, you will be forced to fight another one that has taken its place in the near future.
Not only the sequence of actions (the destruction of wasps, and then the destruction of their nests), but also time is very important. This should be done only in the evening, when uninvited guests flock to the night. In the daytime, the wasp nests are almost empty, so there is no point in processing them. And their removal in the absence of the owners is fraught with consequences. Wasps are very vengeful, therefore, having found a destroyed shelter, they can arrange attacks on people.
What are the best remedies for wasps? As a rule, these are aerosols and microencapsulated.
Fixed assets (OS):
1. "Troapsil" (Netherlands) - destroys synanthropic insects, including wasps. Quite powerful and fast-acting, with a mild odor, quickly weathered, economical. Sold as a concentrate. The solution for processing is prepared from a liter of water and 35 ml of the drug.
2. "Moskitol" - highly effective. Toxic Recommended for processing non-residential premises on the street (open verandas, pipes, attics, cellars, sheds).
3. "Gett" - funds from wasps, in which the emphasis is on microencapsulation. All insects are destroyed. Exceptional safety for people and animals. No smell. Long (up to a year) action. Efficiency is guaranteed on all surfaces.
The development of resistance (immunity) is minimal. The action of "Gett" is based on the transfer of microcapsules between individuals, therefore, the destruction of the entire population (family) is guaranteed. Wasps die in a day.
There are other, "home" remedies for wasps. Let's consider some of them:
- Craftsmen thought of catching wasps in ordinary plastic bottles (a cure for wasps in the country). Having cut off the neck in the area of “shoulders”, turn the bottle over and, pouring sweet sour compote into it, insert the cut part down with the neck.
- Sprinkle windows, curtains and doors with vinegar. The effect, unfortunately, is short-lived.
- “Homemade bait” - is made from the remnants of a sweet melon: crusts are sprayed with insecticides (“Intavir”, “Sherpa”) and laid out in those places where wasps accumulate.
- Pouring boiling water over nests.
- Sealing with polyethylene. It is best to use a tight bag, which is put on the nest, then pressed against the wall and glued with tape (suitable stapler, buttons). After this, the corner of the packet is cut, an insecticide splashes inside and the hole closes again. An hour later, the package can be removed (the wasps will die) and tear off the nest.
