What is a bathroom? A bathroom is a central and very important part of any house or apartment. This term should be understood as a restroom, in which there is at least a toilet and a washbasin. When the area allows, then a urinal and a bidet are added. There are also bathrooms, at least a bathtub and possibly a shower. It is necessary to take into account the combined bathrooms - the rooms in which the plumbing for the bathroom and the bathroom is installed. Such combined bathrooms are often designed to save space and, of course, for the convenience of residents. The size of these rooms depends on the category of housing.
According to building codes and rules, the projected housing is divided into categories, taking into account the level of comfort and social orientation: I and II. The requirements of these standards apply to both categories and take into account ensuring the sanitary and hygienic well-being of residents of these categories of housing. For example, in one-room apartments, a combined bathroom (toilet, bathtub, washbasin) is planned. Separate bathrooms are planned in two- and three-room apartments of each category (a toilet with a toilet and a washbasin, a bathroom with a washbasin). Special rules and regulations govern the placement of both the bathrooms themselves and sanitary equipment in them. In Russia, it is SNiP (construction norms and rules). The CIS countries establish their own rules and regulations. There are also territorial building codes, they depend on the regions or on individual cities. According to these standards, the construction of residential buildings up to two floors (not including the basement), where there are non-canalized latrines such as a backlash closet or dry closet, is allowed in rural settlements. According to the norms, it is expected that the room will have, in addition to artificial lighting and ventilation, also natural. A special role is played in which climatic zone a private house is being built. So, in the IIB and IIIB climatic zones, non-canalized latrines can be located in the part of the residential building, which is heated. There must be an entrance through the vestibule-lock, the depth of which is not less than 1 m. And already in IIIB and IVB climatic zones, such a arrangement of toilets of the heated part of the residential building is not allowed.
If we take Russia as an example, here, if the house is intended for a family with disabled people, the minimum size of the bathroom should be 1.6 x 2.2 m, and the combined bathroom or bathroom should be 2.2 x 2.2 m.
The height of the bathroom is at least 2.5 m, and near the bathroom it is at least 2.1 m. If the bathroom is in the attic, then the distance from the inclined roof plane to the toilet is 105-110 cm.

But here we calculated the area of the bathroom without deducting the dimensions of the door. All we need is to subtract the door size from the bathroom's square: 10 square meters. m. - 1.6 square meters. m. = 8.4 square meters. m
Now it remains to calculate the dimensions of the floor. Here we need the depth and width of the room. Multiply them by each other and get the floor area: 1.2 mx 0.8 m = 0.96 sq. m;

- from 70 cm of free space we leave in front of the washbasin, and if the location of the washbasin is in a niche, then all 90 cm.
