Few city dwellers of regular attacks of cockroaches, no, more and more people complain about the appearance of any other insects in their homes.
Beetles are especially common. The apartments are clean, the housewives carefully monitor the order. But no, no, and insects appear that frighten women and cause disgust in men. It’s unpleasant when bugs appear in the apartment. "How to get rid of them?" - women ask. “Maybe they are also poisonous?” - men think. It is difficult to answer without seeing an insect. In addition, beetles in apartments can be different, although poisonous practically do not occur. Their different habitats, in different ways they penetrate the dwelling. Consider those who more often than others interfere with the quiet life of citizens.
"Carpet" beetles in apartments
Sometimes beetles appear in houses, covered with brown, black or white scales.
Sometimes it’s even difficult to notice them: they can be from one to four millimeters in size. Destroying them is difficult: no matter how much you spray poisonous liquids, there are no less bugs. Most likely, these are anthrenuses: skin-eating beetles. In Russia there are about a hundred of them, some of which can be found in city apartments. In the world - more than 600. Even the name shows that these insects “love”. However, they do not only eat skin.
Horse hair, fur coats, carpets and rugs, meat and fish - all this and many other items and products can destroy these bugs. In apartments, they most often live in fur coats, woolen things, and
carpets. They can be removed in only one way: to destroy white, barely noticeable larvae, most often hiding among the pile. Even in the apartments live
dust mites that feed on the scales of dead human skin. There are a lot of them in carpets, down pillows, upholstered furniture. They are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. They do not bite, but can cause allergies. That's why you need to hang things out twice a year: freeze in winter, fry in the summer in the sun.
Those who live in the kitchen
Small beetles in the apartment, photos of which are in the article, can choose a kitchen as their place of residence.
Most likely, they got into the house from the store, along with beans or peas, dried herbs, cereals. If this bug is very small, brown in color and is found in products, then most likely it is
Surinamese flour-eater. It’s hard to get it out. Firstly, he easily pretends to be dead. Good housewives throw the corpse into the trash, it comes to life and returns. Secondly, females lay an incredible number of larvae that survive on anything. Often, such bugs, who “arrived” from the store along with decoy, can turn a plastic jar into a sieve in a month. They say that if you sift and then freeze or fry damaged products, you can eat them. But for many this is unacceptable, it is better to throw away all affected products, then thoroughly wash the containers, shelves, and kitchen. And to prevent the appearance of "kitchen" bugs of any kind, you can do this:
- Store everything in glass jars with tight lids, preferably in the cold.
- Regularly review supplies, destroying those that bugs already liked.
- Ventilate and dry the kitchen.
