UAZ Kozel is a legendary Soviet-made SUV. It was produced until 2003 at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. In the 70s, it became widespread, becoming the main machine of the commanders of the Soviet Army. In the mid-80s, the release of updated models began, which were aimed at the domestic market. History
UAZ "Kozel" was originally developed for the transport of goods and people, as well as for towing small trailers. It was assumed that the car will get patency on all types of roads. Development began in the early 50s. The first UAZ "Kozel", whose photo in 1965 was in every magazine about cars, appeared in 1958. It was a prototype and was called the UAZ-460. It showed similarities with American SUVs. Fortress, utilitarianism are the main features that UAZ Kozel could boast of. Tuning became a popular phenomenon of a later time, but the Soviet SUV came up well for this. A significant disadvantage of the car was inconvenience.
Appearance on the road
The first UAZ "Goat" came off the assembly line on December 15, 1972. Off-road vehicles were called upon to lure the GAZ-69. The aggregate base used mechanics familiar for that period, distinguished by reliability. Initially, the car was produced under the index 469. This continued until 1985, after which the number was changed to 3151.
In 1974, the car was subjected to tests, during which it was able to climb a height of 4.2 kilometers to Mount Everest.
In 2003, UAZ production was discontinued.
Resumption of production
At the beginning of 2010, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced that it was going to restart production of the UAZ-469. However, the party was expected to be limited. The design of the SUV was changed, which significantly increased ride comfort. The model received a spring front suspension, disc brakes, and a power steering. Solutions were issued in which they adhered to the original design.
Production continued until next January. During this period, about five thousand SUVs were produced. Instead of the UAZ-469, the plant decided to produce the Hunter Classic, which costs significantly more than its predecessor.
Design
The body was made open, there is a removable awning. There are 4 doors. For loading luggage there is a tailgate, which can be called the fifth door. Rear mounted two folding seats to accommodate passengers. In total, an SUV is capable of carrying up to 7 passengers. Arches for installation of an awning can be removed. The engine in the car uses a 4-cylinder UMZ-451MI 2.5 liters. Power is 75 hp. For refueling, A76 or A72 gasoline is used. The basis is a dry clutch on a single disc. Installed 4-speed gearbox. For fuel, two tanks of thirty-nine liters are used. 16 liters of gasoline are consumed per 100 kilometers (speed 90 km / h).
A car can carry up to 7 passengers and 100 kilograms of luggage or 2 and 600 kilograms of luggage. Able to tow a trailer, the mass of which is 850 kilograms.
