Lepidoptera insect lives deep in the ground, breaking through numerous tunnels and passages. As a feed, she chooses cultivated root crops, seeds, and flower bulbs. Therefore, it is necessary to organize a targeted fight against the pest.
Mechanical methods
In the areas where the bear settled, the methods of struggle are carried out in two directions - by chemical and mechanical means. First of all, it is necessary to destroy the underground passages in which the insect lives, and destroy the laid eggs. All these manipulations are carried out by loosening the soil constantly - and before preparing the garden for winter, and before sowing seeds, and throughout the summer period. Digging and loosening the earth is necessary to a depth of at least 15 centimeters. Given that arthropod prefers moist soft ground, after each watering, the site should be loosened without fail.
Chemical methods
In order for the bear to finally leave the garden, the methods of control are reinforced with chemicals. Among the chemicals used on the country-front "front", such drugs as Karbofos, Medvedtoks, Grom, Phenaksin are especially unloved by the bears. With the help of them you can achieve an effective result, without harming the cultivated plants. But be careful not to overdo it with chemicals. Follow the instructions on the packaging. Exceeding the permitted norm can lead to undesirable consequences for your health, as the plants absorb all chemicals well.
Traps
Equally effective are folk methods of fighting a bear. At the beginning of the season, you need to prepare a trap for the insect. To do this, dig small holes (about half a meter deep) and fill them with the dung bears so beloved by the Bears. The fresher it is, the better. Having laid the bait, the hole is covered with straw. After a month, the contents of the pit should be burned. Thus, all new, newly hatched pests will burn.
After harvesting, traps are also made. But now the bottom and walls of the pits are laid out with polyethylene, into which the manure is loaded in a half-matured state. The insect chooses such holes for wintering. In winter cold weather, a film with manure and captured arthropods is pulled out of the pit and the pests are left to freeze in the cold. No matter how tricky the bear is, methods of struggle with it you can always pick up.
Lures
In the summer, you can apply the method of expelling a representative of the Orthoptera from his underground dwelling. To do this, you need to prepare a strong soapy solution at the rate of 10 g of household soap, 50 g of any washing powder per 10 liters of water. Pour about half a liter of liquid into the hole and catch the insect at the exit. Also in the summer they make tasty lures from steamed wheat with the addition of hexochloran. Such a hotel should be buried deeper in the ground, at the level of the underground passages of the pest. There are also effective methods of dealing with the bear with the help of sound repellers.
