Molecular Man: The Beginning
It all started with the fact that the humble laboratory assistant at the Akme nuclear corporation makes a fatal mistake and receives a huge dose of radiation exposure. To his surprise, he did not die, but changed a lot. Until that time, Owen was a simple guy, constantly dissatisfied with his position and the failure of his own life. After this event, a Molecular Man appeared in his place, to whom the molecular foundations of everything in the world are subject to.
The first test of his strength took place when he was fired. Molecular Man (Marvel Comics) froze the corporate building.
But this was not the only consequence of the accident in the laboratory. The explosion of the particle accelerator caused a passage to form. And through this passage into the Marve universe, various otherworldly entities began to penetrate.
Superpower
So, after the accident, the Molecular Man gained power over the molecular world. He was able to turn one object into another, matter into energy and energy into matter, create additional holes in space.
Build a palace on a soccer field? Cover the city with a cap? Move the mountain? All this for our hero is simply nonsense.
But his forces did not extend to living beings. But this is for the time being.
Over time, his strength grew. And if at first his abilities were tied to a magic wand (steel wand), later he could already guide them without it. He learned to change himself.
Antihero period
After the accident, the Molecular Man from Marvel abandons his previous beliefs and submits to his dark side.
He wanted to become the only law in New York and entered into a duel with the Fantastic Four (Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Lady, The Human Torch and the Creature).
The confrontation grew, and the destructive power of the Molecular Man grew. The first attempt to defeat him in the four heroes failed. But they turned to Alicia Masters, and she made them plaster statues of them. Upon interacting with them, Owen’s forces weakened, and Observer Huat managed to capture the Molecular Man and place him in another universe.
Short period of silence
In a parallel dimension, our hero was bored. He was surprised to find that time runs here much faster. Afraid of growing old and dying, he uses his powers to create a creature that will become his son.
Thus appears Aaron Rick - the son of the Molecular Man, to whom the father gives his magic wand and asks to avenge his exile.

During the battle between Aaron and the Creature, the unforeseen happened - the Creature managed to separate the newly appeared Molecular Man from the magic wand. This caused Aaron Rick to break up into molecules.
But the wand did not disappear.

And then it turned out that Owen was not dead. He transferred his consciousness to the rod that his son brought to Earth. Now everyone who touched her became the receptacle of the evil mind of the Molecular Man.
Owen the schoolgirl was defeated by Iron Man, Owen the boxer and Owen Reed Richardson were defeated by the heroes of the Fantastic Four, and Owen the homeless was defeated by the micro-universe researcher.
New body
All these wanderings bothered our hero, and he still created a new human body for himself. Then a fateful meeting with the Silver Surfer happened with our hero, who told him about Galactus - the most terrible creation of space. A molecular person with a stronger body decided to become the same “devourer” of the Earth.
This greatly alarmed the Silver Surfer, and he turned for help to the Avengers (Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk). However, they could not defeat our hero: Cap’s shield, Iron Man’s armor, Thor’s hammer were destroyed by him.
And then the young Tiger Avenger came to the rescue. It was she who managed to find a way to the soul of the Molecular Man and convince him to give up and undergo a course of psychotherapy to correct his emotional blocks.
New round
Owen decided to become a good guy. He took a course of psychotherapy and saw new perspectives for himself: to find love and real friendship, to have a home and a normal life. But this was not destined to come true. Our hero is abducted, and he finds himself in the company of villains on the planet World of Battles, which was created by the Creator (The Otherworldly). This omnipotent invisible creature in the guise of a man with fair skin and black hair is preparing a war with the heroes of the Earth. Its purpose is the destruction of the universe and the capture of the planet.
Beloved Volcano
In one of the battles of the Secret War, Owen meets Vulcan, who will become the love of his life. During this period, our hero understands how to influence organic matter, his strength is growing and requires implementation.
In the end, Owen decides that it is time for him to live only for himself and his Volcano. He brings her and several criminals back to Earth. Here Owen and Vulcan plan to live calmly and measuredly.
New war
And at this time the Creator flies to the earth. And our hero takes the side of goodness trying to stop the destruction that the Otherworld does.
The battle with the Creator was not easy. The universe is crumbling, the earth's crust is cracking, but the Molecular does not give up. After the battle, our hero remains almost completely without strength. Molecular uses his last strength in order to hide from the destruction created by the Otherworld, all those close to him.
But the war went on. Our hero together with the Silver Surfer managed to prevent the degeneration of the Otherworld and prevented the destruction of the Earth and healed it. Molecular then decides to hide his powers from everyone and return to normal life.
Space cubes
Several months passed, and our hero meets the Cube - creatures from the Space Cube. It is he who tells the Molecular about the origins of his strength. As it turned out, the forces of the hero and the Beyond are of the same origin and, having merged, can create a new Cosmic Cube. In addition, Cube explained to Molecular that such a character exists in every universe and that his death is directly related to the death of the universe.
This is exactly what is happening. The volcano believes that Owen died during the creation of a new cosmic creature. In fact, the newly created Cube took power from the Molecular and rejected it.
Return to Earth
Alienated and exhausted, our hero returned to Earth. He decided to live as a hermit - after all, his strength disappeared and he had nothing to give to his beloved. But the Volcano found him. They did not have time to make peace - they were attacked by a secret agent of the criminal structure, who was trying to take away from Vulcan that part of the force that Owen had managed to transfer to her in due time.
In the battle, the Volcano gives power to Owen, and he again becomes the Molecular Man. He defeats all agents and arrogantly boasts of it. This pushed Vulcan again.
They broke up, but our hero continues to love and hopes in the future to prove his allegiance to his beloved.
Outside the comic book
This character is often used by animators. In the animated series Fantastic Four and Super Hero Squad, Molecular Man acts as an antihero. And in the animated film Avengers Assemble, we meet already with his son Aaron Rick.
And in Berlin, Molecular Man stands on the banks of the Spree River. This three-piece monument, 30 meters high and weighing 45 tons, is the work of American sculptor Jonathan Borofsky. As conceived by the author, it symbolizes the unity and integrity of man and the molecule, and the community of everything with everything in this universe.
