The harm of masturbation has caused a lot of controversy for many years. Masturbation is ubiquitous since ancient times. As a rule, adolescents begin to engage in self-satisfaction during puberty, when sexual arousal comes, but full-fledged sex is not yet available. Although often children begin to masturbate at an earlier age. This may be due to insufficient care of the genitals or certain diseases, such as vulvovagenitis or worms, which cause an unconscious touch on the genitals. Masturbation in this case is of an involuntary nature, gradually acquiring awareness of actions.

For a long time in society, masturbation was considered a shameful phenomenon, and parents, having caught the child for such an occupation, began to scold him or even punish him. Still in modern society there are still such prejudices, which in many respects determine the harm of masturbation for the further life of a person. First of all, a person who was punished for masturbation in childhood, considers himself defective in adulthood, experiences shame after giving himself sexual satisfaction. In severe cases, such self-flagellation begins to oppress the psyche of the individual, interfering with his normal life, causing constant depression. In this case, one can rather speak not of the dangers of self-satisfaction as such, but of the dangers of prejudice.
But is masturbation as harmful as orthodox opinions say? The time taken to obtain sexual satisfaction is much less with masturbation than with sexual intercourse. This leads to malfunctioning of the circulatory and nervous systems. Therefore, it is advisable to extend the time of masturbation to the duration of a full sexual intercourse and begin with gradual caresses of the body until the onset of arousal.
In addition, during masturbation, the
genitals experience more pressure, are more actively stimulated than during sex. Therefore, dissatisfaction with the partner may arise,
erogenous zones become insensitive to caresses. This is especially true for the chest and cervix. But with vaginal and clitoral masturbation such situations do not occur. When a permanent sexual partner appears, masturbation should be stopped.
Especially severe is the harm of masturbation when abused in men. The fact is that sexual intercourse is possible only with an erect penis, and for masturbation this condition is not necessary. And if the number of
sexual acts is limited by nature, then a man can masturbate endlessly. Then the body will direct all efforts to the production of new sperm, which ultimately leads to the oppression of other organs and exhaustion.
Answering the question of whether it is harmful to masturbate, we can answer unequivocally: "Yes." But this is only partly true and only if a person abuses this way of satisfaction. In other cases, the harm of masturbation has not been proven, but it can bring considerable benefits. In the absence of regular sex, it makes it possible to get discharge, relieve sexual tension, normalize hormonal levels.
